Yesterday , I went to Farm Services and Applied for the High Tunnel grant mentioned in a previous thread. In order to be concidered in NY State you must apply for the EQIP program. The deadline is today for some of the Grants available but occording to the clerk I talked to ,the High Tunnel Initiative is open indefinitly. While I was there , I asked about any other available funding. I found two more initiatives that were pertinent to my agricultural indevor. One was a program that provides help for transitioning to organic farming. I signed up for that. The deadline is today. The second was a grant for agricultural irrigation. I signed up for that. Currently we irrigate from our home well. If we are accepted for this grant we will be able to put in a second well just for the greenhouses. That will be great. Now I need to concentrate on getting an electric pole and service for the greenhouses. I got my Seed Saver's Exchange catalog today and ohh my, I guess I need to order more seeds today :)
