I saw this Calycanthus when we were in Yosemite Park and had to put one in my garden. Although the flowers looks just like C. floridus, the fragrance reminds one of an empty wine barrel (so say my friends). It's very easy to grow with a little water and the leaves are dark green and shiny--a handsome shrub.
