I have planted Bergenia along paths in my large flower garden in Olympia, WA. I have a fenced garden, but until it was fenced 3 years ago I never had a flower, because the flowers are a special treat for the many deer at our lake front community. I have divided my original small clump so that now I have about 50 plants, all in only a few years. The first year they may not bloom, but they don't take long to establish and bloom without fail. This photo was taken in April of 2009 and as you can see the Bergenia are the only thing blooming. When they are finished blooming they also make an nice green border for the many other perennials that will fill the garden within a few weeks after they finish blooming.
I don't understand how to change the "no" "yes" box! This plant is a Yes! This message was edited Jan 25, 2010 8:18 AM
