Great article but I would like to challenge one small point.
I lived in Tasmania, Australia for many years and grew many D. Antarctica. They will grow beautifully from a length of sawn off trunk that has a living top but there is no way they will grow from a length of trunk without a top.

And I am almost certain stumps do not reshoot as suggested in the article. I would be very, very hesitant about cutting one off to plant elsewhere in the expectation that the stump will grow again.
