    and a wonderful article as always. I have seen that listed on many labels but never knew what it was.

    Thanks Trisha, I didn't know a thing about it either.

    It's fun to learn something new, though, so this article was my learning experience. I still think it sounds like something that should be poured into a car's engine.

    Benzoin has a very pleasant scent that smells to me like vanilla rootbeer! It is used in perfumery, I believe and in essential oil/aroma therapy. Good article!

    Hi Roybird, thank you. I knew it was used in some perfumes, but didn't think about its use in aromatherapy. Should have known.

    They grow in Nam...I've seen them, but they weren't being harvested...

    I suppose not much was being harvested at that time.

    No I don't suppose so, but I don't remember seeing any evidence of it either...BIG and very beautiful trees...The leaves are real silvery especially when it rains...Nice to know what kind of tree it was...

    I would just like to inhale the scent of one, but guess that's not to be.
