Great article, Lee Ann! I so identified... I am "Mom" to two cats, and sometimes my daughter's 15 year old cat, Popeye. When my oldest cat, Leo, was a kitten he just loved to play with the leaves of my Pothos. He didn't eat them, just liked to tear every sing leaf off the plant during "batting practice"! He used to dig in the soil occassionally, but he was always very sneaky about it. Luckily, he outgrew that very quickly. The spray bottle worked quite well with him. Recently, I adopted my kitten Lily, for whom ALL plants are fair game as toys and nibble food. She doesn't dig at least, thank goodness, although she does have a penchant for chewing on electrical cords! Fortunately, cords are easier to cover than the plants. No deterants have worked so far, so the battle continues, as she is one very headstrong little girl! LOL
