Hi Sharan, Well, who knew? I can't say I have chewed a lot of them, but I think I can still manage a chew every now and then and survive. Thanks for the great article. Rosemary

Me too, Rosemary! Me too...it hasn't hurt me one bit in all these years.

Great to hear from you. We have snow here in western KY this morning. I'm wondering if my mountains across the state are covered, too. We don't get much snow anymore, and this one is pretty.

Thanks for writing, enjoy your next sassafras twig, I'll probably be chewing right along with you!

Not calling for much in the mountains. 1-2 inches at best. I've been checking because Cheryl and I are headed to Pine Mountain State Park to stay in a cabin Friday and Saturday night. (She's married to a romantic who likes taking her away for the Valentine's weekend every year.)

Awwwwww...that's one of my favorite romantic getaways.
Y'all have a real good time.
Big hugs to both of you.

Oh, my Mountain Laurel is looking really good in all this weather...makes my heart smile!
Thanks, little bro...(I dropped the cuz thing when I looked at the ML last week.)

I'll let you know about the mimosa (etal) later...worried a little about the Christmas fern, though.

The Christmas Fern will be alright. Sometimes mine won't stay green through the winter but will perk up in the spring.
