Hello all, I basically just need some feedback and/or advice on my plan for selling native perennials. I recently got the idea to grow native perennials (for southern Michigan) and sell them at farmers markets, flea markets, or maybe get some local nursery and plant businesses to take them. The perennials that I am thinking about growing are not available anywhere within at least 50 miles of me, (I know, because I have looked for them myself), which would be a good thing if I'm the only one with them for sale. Like I said these plants are native perennials, which are not the normal thing you find for sale. Some people look at native's as weeds probably, but in reality there are many beautiful ones also. With the interest lately in butterfly gardening growing, these plants that I am thinking about fit perfectly. I think that if they were available to people in the first place, there's a better than even chance they would sell. Right now I already have some started from seed, most will probably have to be started that way. With perennials, many don't bloom until the second year from seed, sometimes longer, so I have a little ways to go yet building them up to 1 gal. pot size. So, what do you think about this idea I have, do you think it will fly? Would appreciate any and all opinions I can get. Thanks, John
