Last spring I planted several shrubs in a moderately shading area of my back yard using this additive (yet another name I struggel to pronouce!). FOr the past four growing seasons, many small shrubs and shade perennials have struggled to survive let alone thrive in this part of my yard. I learned that my lack of success may be due to the lack of mycorrhizae in my soil due to the competition for nurtrients and water from several mature maple trees. Adding it to the planting hole must might help replacement plants survive. I now have an active "lab" to see if there will be a better survival rate. I am crossing my fingers that this spring brings me promising lab results!
