I didn't realize the article was being rerun. My camellias here in Greensboro are just coming into bloom now. The first ones were killed by the freezing weather.

I'm glad the article is being rerun. Otherwise I'd have missed out. I need to brave the cold and check mine. We've had an unusual cold winter this year. We've had snow flurry yesterday evening.

Onewish1: Thanks for reading! Actually I think this one has run several times.

I haven't been back to San Diego since the 1970s but Ive read that the Japanese Exposition area has been restored. I do hope they saved the camellias.

What conditions do camellias need? Sun? Shade? Somewhere in between? It gets pretty darn hot in Texas so some plants that might be labeled as needing 'full sun' would actually croak here in our summers. Are they slow growers? (I have too many of those b/c I didn't think to ask.) Anything else you might be able to share with me as far as growing conditions? Thanks.
