I may be a luddite on these thing; but please save me from the ever increasing flood of Heuchera, Heucherella, etc. There was a time when these were grown for their flowers, (sigh). Brighter is not always better, I think.
I understand why you feel this way, lortay, as I love the flowers of the older varieties as well. Still, where I live it is so nice to have something that will live in mostly shade and brighten it up. Hostas are nice, but really, they can become rather boring. I plant a mixture for the flowers and for the leaf colors.
