I am opening this froggy swap to anyone that wants to join. I will take names till Saturday 10 April, and mail out date will be Saturday 17 April. If you need longer time, please let me know.

You can go to the list of likes and dislikes to post your preferences, such as for outside, or inside, size, real looking or funny... but keep it to just that. Not too much chatting please. If you have any questions, post them here.

Lets try to keep this to one nice froggy. You can add other little frogs, seeds or bulbs if you like, but not needed.

Lets try to keep the cost to no more than $20.00, as we all know times are hard for some of us! It can be store bought, or handmade.

Once you have your swap partners name, please keep it a secret, till they have recieved it.

Make sure your camera's are charged, because we would really like to see what you get!

Make sure you are in the address exchange, so we can get your pressies to you! Or send me a dmail with your address.

Lets have fun with the froggy swap! :-)

Don't be sorry.
Every year I do a froggy swap, it can be a statue for the garden or house, it can be a silly frog, or a real looking one, it can be jewelry, or on fabric.
We have lots of frog lovers here, so I do a swap! Just tell me here you want to join and once I have all the names, I will give you a name to send your pressies to, and someone will send you pressies!
There is usally a $20.00 limit, it can be more, it can be less, depending on your wallet, cause we all know times are tough right now! It can be store bought or handmade!

ok, I like frogs and don't have anything for my garden (other than the real ones, which I can't keep too many cause the darn snakes keep eating them and right in front of me too) that is a frog...so cool.

Please ad me to this swap.

I'm eagerly waiting for the buddy assignments so I can go hunting for the perfect froggie! Are we sending other things as well? And if so, should we be posting any likes/dislikes? That usually gives me a better idea of what to get for my buddy than the trade list, since trade lists seem to be pretty slim these days.

Exaxctly! Like you said! Only I like larger frogs, like planters & statues & things that can hold up to a lot of nieces & nephews potentially playing with them (I yell at them, but they think of me as the "fun auntie", so they don't really take me seriously, and the little ones just see something pretty & want it!)

About 18" high, if I remember right... and the kids couldn't pick it up & destroy it! Not what I'm getting for my buddy, 'cause it would cost a fortune to mail, just giving the heads-up for anyone shopping for stationary creatures to put in their own gardens. They also had some other nice items (angels, gnomes) for about the same price.

FruitOfTheVine, when my daughter was about a year old a friend came to visit and stay with us for awhile. He brought her a stuffed beanbag frog. Thinking she would be so excited he put it on the tray of her highchair where she was.. Wrong!!! I thought I would never get her calmed down again and to this day (47 years later) she is terrified of frogs.

Neener, My sis was 11 years older than me so from the time I was 8 years old she was basically grown and I was raised as an only child. Let's see, Marion, the last time I had a frog down my pants was 44 years ago. Geez...I can so relate to your daughter.

Our own froggies_girl is here. Hi Julie!

I've never seen so many croakers at once, Betty. Some of them remind me of monkeys: See No Evil, Speak No Evil, Hear No Evil.

Who has pics of real frogs or Lily ponds?

Well we had a racoon last night. Got into my mom's pond and ate about 40 or 50 fish. He must have been really hungry because he squeezed thru the wire screen that we had laying over the top. We had not had any problems for almost a year, but I think the fish laid eggs and the racoons can smell it miles away. He had been in the pond just before we got home from bowling. We had moved things around to cover up where he went in and the little bugger came back again. That is what happened to my fish last year when I lived in Marysville. Mom was able to see about 4 fish this morning. So when I get home this afternoon I am going to double cover my pond. I have about 60 fish in mine, some of them re black koi.
We do have some frogs, can hear them at night from my bedroom.

He (the raccoon) was probably a she, with little ones on the way or following her there to eat. 1 coon can not eat that much, but a family can. I speak from experience, only they were getting my chickens. Dh and I would sit outside at night on the lawn chair and shot them all night long. They are cute to watch, great as pets when they are little, but they are bad when they are older. BTW coon is very greasy, so stick him out on the pit and be sure to put lots of BBQ sauce on it.

What I want to know is 'Did you bowl good'?

My bowling has really declined big time. Must be old age. Used to carry a 172 average now I'm down to a 150 :(

Hmmm wonder if I can stay awake to see if they come back. I do have a pellet gun hmmmmmmm, lol.

Losing that many Koi must have made your Mom sick. Raccoons are awful nuisances here too, especially this time of year when they have young uns, like Robin mentioned. If I leave a bag of garbage in the back of the truck, it's a mess the next morning. When trapping was lucrative and before it became "unfashionable", DH used to trap every imaginable critter and used Havahart traps, especially when he trained his Coon dogs. They're humane but you'll need to truck those Coons 10 miles or more away so they don't return.

Luckily I'm not having coon problems anymore. They don't come around with my 2 big dogs roaming the property at night. My chicken used to be free range, those got eaten and now I have all penned up chicken. We are building a big coop this summer with a top over the yard for them. So now the only thing I have to worry about are snakes getting through the wire.

Cindy, I bowled bad last night and our team lost 3 also. Then we did another set for a snow make up night. Bowled horrible in that too. Used to carry a 167 avg. Now I can barely keep a 135. It is old age and 4 screws in my back that I believe has dropped me down.

Morning, heavy rains here and calling for snow tomorrow, imagine, mid 80's just a few days ago..oh well, said we'd get one more day of snow, doubt it will last long..

Got ambitious over the weekend and pumped out all the water and with a bucket got rid of any sludge, lots of work but well worth the effort..I just love to see and hear the sounds of the water spray, now it's up to Mother Nature to do her thing..grow plants/shrubs grow...anxiously awaiting the color and beauty...

Brother has many Koi, he's away to California this week, think I should visit and take home a few..lol..wonder if they'd miss them...

LindaKay, see you have mail out by April 17..you know our mail system here from Canada to USA..takes time so what I shall do seeing as I'm crossing the border again on the 23rd. I'd mail from there..will actually get there sooner...alright with you?
