LOL... well, I don't have much to offer, but hopefully some things will begin to appear soon that can be shared. Right now, I have tons of Red and Yellow Marble 4:00 babies if anyone is interested and I my Mary Stokes crysantheum has multiplied by 10 fold or so it appears... anyone need any of it? Not sure how to divide it but I will be willing to attempt it if anyone is interested. Have some seeds that I have meant to start - actually most were supposed to be winter sown but I never got that done!! ^_^ Going too many different directions! Maybe I can get some seeds going and have a little more to offer.
I am not going to be able to make it this year. I am working all weekend, and am off the first and last weeks in May. I may send some plants with someone if anyone will be passing through Hammond.
I have some Epi cuttings, and will (should) have some baby desert rose seedlings. I have no idea which color either will be. I also have some milkweed seedlings for the Monarchs. If anyone is interested and/or can bring my babies, I will post a list.
I too will miss you Jenn and your Flower (Lilly). It seems as if you're having a wonderful time with your busy family life and nuture one own garden... It's so kind of you to offer plants for those of us who's enjoying butterflies gardening. You're missed, and hopefully we'll get together again some other time.
I just wanted to add here, these wonderful plants that Jeri has given me in years past in one of our wonderful get together RU. It has brought lot of joy and a delight to see the plants are tough as nails. They survived our harsh winter and spreading. Thank you, Jeri. I love these variegated P. something, something (I can't remember its name).
Hi Sis, I so love your garden setting and missing seeing you. Jim keeps saying, maybe we can hold a Round Up next-- this Fall. I know what his motive was--to down size our tropicals collection. Hang on everyone, that may become a reality yet. He has been working feverishly since Easter Holiday to move all the plants out of the basement. This weekend he worked on the small pond we've. There are so much to be done, it's overwhelming sometimes.
Speaking of tropicals. Here is a Guava that was given to me by Em Lan. I'll so cherrish this plant since it reminds me of my childhood. Thank you, Em Lan. Oh the "Mickey Mouse Plant" is also doing great. They're putting out berries left and right.
Where exactly is jeri located in Central LA? I DO NOT need another single plant - I don't!so I won't be attending ANY RU's ever... seriously I won't but it can't hurt to find out where this one will be - just on the off chance I find myself nearby... right:)
ahhh silly me Central (as in I'm a city in LA) Not central as in the center of. I have it now - I won't be coming as I don't need another plant - repeat after me I DO NOT need even one little bitty plant EVER. I still have pots from the Oct RU on my deck waiting for me to plant them - I DO NOT need another plant - no matter if they are FREE! AHHHHH addiction is a really bad thing isn't it? I do hope you guys have fun getting all those plants and giving away your little babies... I'll be at PA (the plant addiction group meeting) reminding myself that I DO NOT NEED ANOTHER PLANT!!!
Thanks Jeri - but it looks like I should pass on the petasites ...looks like the need moist soil (which I don't have) and looks like they might be invasive and I have enough trouble keeping my weeds in check at this point. I don't want to have to fight my "flowers" too.
Sandra, I have never heard of that lochroma but it is beautiful. How do you plan to keep it alive over winter??? Aren't you a zone 7 too? I would love to have one but I don't have a green house... (yet)...
I don't plan on keeping it, but I enjoyed the one I had so much last year, I am going to treat them as an annual and enjoy them again this year. The one I had last year bloomed from top to bottom and really earned its keep.
Did you just put it in a pot? or in the ground? How tall did yours get over the summer? I might have to have one of those for my porch... really looks interesting and I love anything that will bloom all summer!!
How much did it cost you last year? I am pretty sure I lost my brug too. I left it in the ground because several people around have them in the ground here and they come back - but I am pretty sure mine is gone! Took me FOREVER to finally get one to live - now looks like I am starting over!
I have been trying to find an small enclosed trailer to borrow to take to Jeri's so that I can bring my foundation planting plants back from Forest Hills. But, so far I haven't had any luck. I am concerned about having enough room - I am a good packer, but I don't think there is any way I can get home with that many plants! I have considered pricing a uhaul - but not sure it would be worth it... everyone tells me the plants are a LOT cheaper down there and so I figure I could save quite a bit but renting a uhaul may wipe out the savings... :(
Well, it sure doesn't look good - looks TOTALLY DEAD - but MAYBE... it would sure be nice to have it come back, but we had some pretty low temps this past winter. TOO BAD they didn't affect the fire ants!!!
That big leaf ivy I had that I bought at Memphis
botanical Garden sale a few years ago has died too, I was hoping it would come back from the roots, but no sign of it so far. The variegated is alive and well, if you want some of that
Genna I echo what Terrye said about your brug. I have a couple I've had in the ground for a number of years and don'tusually start showing any signs of life until almost June. They will not come back from the old stalk but from the roots. You will see new shoots come up around where the old stalks were. Then it takes them until Sept. to start blooming. That's why I decided to start putting mine in pots and taking in for the winter.
Yeah Charlotte.. last year was my first in the ground with the brugs, and I had huge plants blooming in March when I set them out, and now I have lil nubs starting to leaf out. On some I might dig them up, but after the breaker tripping in the GH last January, I don't know if I am any better off..LOL
Terrye.. I have the regular ol green English Ivy.. want me to pot some up for you??
I have two brugs in the ground that aren't coming up yet either. LOL I was just thinking of asking you all about this last night when I went to bed, and you're already talking about it! I have clippings from when I cut them down last year if ANY of you want them. If I come to the RU I'm bringing all of them, unless mine don't come up, then I'll be keeping two clippings LOL! I have like 50 some-odd clippings, 3 to 6 in a pot that can be separated.
I don't need any plants either, I am officially out of room and not in the mood to build another bed yet. I want to come to the RU but we might be going to my mom's the week after and I don't have the time to take off work for all of that. Maybe by then I will get a couple of days. I'd like to make a week long vacation out of it, come to the RU to give plants away, drive through Texas and back up to OKC where my mom lives, then back home but I don't have the time off work for that either, plus with Dave not working I don't want to spend the money.
Does any one want any obedient plant. I have a big patch I am going to dig up. I put all that I'm going to keep in a big pot last year. It would be great if you have a big area you need to fill and don't mind it spreading.
I will start posting what I know I have. I will cut and paste and post on the other thread also. Will try to keep the same on both - but not sure that is possible!LOL
4 - 6 (maybe more) little redbud seedlings
obedient plant (lots of it)
1 blue frost hydrangea (I had rooted this for Oct RU & didn't think it had taken - it made it through the winter
small but growing)
1 confederate jasmine
1 (maybe more) orange trumpet vine
1 pot monkey grass (the clumping kind)
pachysandra (lots of it)
toad lily (lots of it)
Moonvine - new plants started from seed
3. Becky (2)
Will add as I look around.
Emily, I would love some orange crocosmias, and Charlotte, I would be interested in your confederate jasmine and a redbud. I can't remember if the conferate jasmine is white or yellow... i have had both in the past but can't remember the names - and I successfully killed both of them!
Not to sound greedy - but I am looking at purchasing some flowers from the Bluestone coop and I wondered if anyone had any of these that they might could share... if so, I thought I would put my money into different plants so maybe I can share back in a year or so...
I just have a limited budget for purchasing so I would rather purchase plants that ya'll don't have so I can offer something in trade later. I don't expect to receive all of these just had no idea what ya'll might already have.
These are the plants I have asked for:
Confederate Rose: rubis red
Coleus: Kong Rose and Versa Crimson
Ferns: Sword and Cinnamon
Salvia: Lady in Red; white salvia (Augusta?)
Sedum: Golden Moss (yellow)
Yellow bell pepper
Salvia: LaTrinidad and Cherry Queen
From Kathy Ann:
Lady in Red hydrangea
Royal Red buddleia
Salvia: Henry and Augusta Duelberg (if she can get them rooted)
Black and Blue Salvia
Calidora EE and Chicago Harlequin EE
Yes, ma'am, Cindy, you can have two Jacob Clines--I potted up another one today--and I can always dig more. The thing multiplies rapidly so I have plenty. Do you want a Stone's Throw Pink, too?
Genna, I put your name on the one Oranges and Lemons Gaillardia that I have to share. I also have one red gaillardia with your name on it. The O&L seems to be sensitive about being dug so I hope it makes it. I nearly lost mine last year--thought it was dead but it came back this spring and I found an extra shoot of it for you!
Beck, I have your name on a Persicaria.
Beck: I looked over your list. I would like the following from you, please:
Kong Rose Coleus, Versa Crimson Coleus, Sword Fern, Cinnamon Fern,
Lady in Red Salvia, 1 yellow bell pepper. Thank you.
Also, just to clarify things: did you mean you want a persicaria or were you talking about the Blue Fortune Agastache? I don't have a photo of the persicaria posted here so thought you might be talking about the Agastache since it is in the photo which I posted in the trade thread on cubits. You may have both if you like, but I just wanted to make sure I understood what you were asking for.
I have two Minnie Pearl phlox potted up if anybody wants one. I will add them to my list now.
No, Marilyn, I googled the Persicaria... I don't know many flowers names, so i have to google just about everything. I have you down. Soooo glad I have something you want
Cindy.. I love it..LOL.. I was going to beg you to get something anyway, since I also have lots of pots sitting where they don't belong!! If I can get back to the woods I have another fern out there.. I'll bring you that one too.. Got you down!!
I was one of the ones that tried to over winter some coleus from the May RU. I don't remember who gave it to me but I discovered today that one of them is actually coming back. All I can tell right now is that it is dark red. It is coming back from around the root. They were in my little mini greenhouses during that super cold weather. I am just amazed!!
Mary I have you down from some crocosmias. Thankfully my rush survived!
I can dig a few more crocosmias if anyone else is interested. I also have limelight artemsia. I can try to do a couple of NOID plumeria cuttings if someone is interested and I have some Easter Lilies and mint. Waiting on my EE's to come up and will probably have some of those to offer, need to see what comes up first.
Charlotte - could I have a toad lily please. I thought I killed the one you gave me in October, but it has come back and is growing well.
Marilyn - do you have any bee balm left? I lost both of the ones you had given me. :(
Marilyn, Thanks so much for marking so many things off my 'want' list. Now, maybe i can buy some different things that I can share soon!
Beck, I would love to have a Dr Suess and a First Belle if you still have one. I am still hoping to see signs of life on mine (Dr Suess), but so far nothing. I would also like to try the double one if you still have some left. I would like a Tommy Toes tomato, a yellow bell pepper, and I would love a start of your Becky shasta daisy if you don't mind.
Seems like I had something else down - but I have forgotten what it was...
LOL Genna.. I hate that when that happens to me!! I have you down for everything except the Dr Suess. I will look to see if I have another one, but I might have a smaller on, or a small one of a NOID gold one. It's nice too, but either way, I'll try to fix you up!! Thanks!
It might help to have the plants divided in two lists. That way you don`t get 4 requests for 2 plants listed twice because because they are in two places. kwim? One plant on each list would get one request on each list and work better I think.
Plus it would be ok if you had different plants on each list since everyone is free to look at either one of the lists. Karen
I'm sorry that it is so hard to keep up with 2 list. I hate to leave cubits people out of the RU though. What I think may work is to make a 3rd list on paper and use it as the main list to go by to feed the other 2 list. LOL!!! Who would think this would be so difficult!!!! Then too, the people on the list can double check to make sure nothing is forgotten!!!!
I`m going to draw a line in the middle of a piece of notebook paper and D list #1 on the left side and C list #2 on the right side with the plant and people`s names on there.
It will cut down on confusion if you treat each list and forum as separate entities just as for example if you are doing a swap in the seed forum and a swap in the daylily forum. You only really need to do this if you are going to list and chose plants on both of them.
You could make two different lists then one for each separate forum. I also don`t see why you`d have to put the same plants on both lists either. You could put 1/2 your daylilies on one list and 1/2 on the other and 1/2 your ee`s on one and 1/2 on the other or you could put all the daylilies on one list and ee`s on the other. kwim?
I have a thing on my computer called a sticky note. I've never used it before. But you all have just solved how I can keep up. I will use that little sticky note (it looks like a little yellow sticky note) to put information on until I can transfer it to the right list.
Where is the list on cubits? at least IF ya'll are going to list different plants there. I don't have time to hang on out the computer much - so I rarely go to cubits... just visited there last week trying to find my way around, but i still can't navigate it very well... managed to find the coops and have a want list for one of those!! :)
Is the confederate rose different than a rose of sharon?? Is that the rose that blooms in the fall? Can you tell me if they need sun or shade and how large they get?? is is like a tree or a bush? i might be interested in one if it what I think it is...
Genna... Yep , it blooms in fall and with the proper care the blooms can get to 10"!!!!! Mine never gets watered and only gets about 5' but they can grow lots taller than mine.I think you'll love it! Sandra gave the link to what I have
Thanks Sandra.. I'll talk to you over here...LOL.. where is my lil rolling on the floor guy????
Wow, took me all of l0 minutes to round up about 40 plants or so to offer up. yikes, I hope I haven't over loaded myself, but it will keep me out of the frig for sure.
No numbers on these plants of how many I can offer, when I run out i'll put out on there, unless I only have few then I'll list the numbers. And if their cuttings i'll be rooting then I'll put a * by them and you'll know that's a tentative plant , if rooting takes place iIl bring them.

We're on the flyway for the monarchs and didn't have anything for them to eat on their migration north this spring. Everything had frozen. I'd like to have some food for them when they come back thru in October on the way to Mexico...
Yes, the salvias are both hardy...I'll put them down for you... Don't know if you know the story of these. The blue salvia was found growing on Henry Duelberg's grave. They went back later and found a white one growing near his wife Augusta's grave! What a way to get your 15 minutes of fame...
marsue...I only had one rooted of each...but I posted last night that I'd try to root a few more. Looks like the bees have cross pollinated the white...they look a little "pale blue'' as they're opening. May whiten up as they open up.
Marilyn.. I have a small start of a white salvia.. It may be the Augusta... you want it?? I just got the Henry at the last RU i went to. In fact I might could split it for you and Charlotte.. I think she wanted one too
Thanks so much for the Iris.. she's still pretty and so close to pink..LOL..
Marilyn.. nooooo I ain't giving my Henry..LOL.. that's the one I just got at GCRU..lol.. I am talking about the white one.. is that the Augusta?? Anyway, I know it's a white salvia, I have no idea if there are other whites or not. I think it's big enough to split.. if not i have another one that is larger.. so I'm putting you and Charlotte down for the white salvia!! In fact I'm getting up now to go do it
Okay, Beck--I got ya now!. LOL I was wondering why you would attempt to split a tiny plant that you just got! LOL The white salvia will be great even if it isn't Augusta 'cause I don't have a white salvia.
Genna: I will put your name on one of the iris because Becky is the only one who has asked for one. That will leave one for whoever asks for it first.
Here is a close-up of Celebrity Song. I think it is beautiful!
Wel,l I just checked on the poppies . their wilted, but I have high hopes for them, I'll keep a close watch on them, I lifted a bunch of dirt around them too when I transplanted them, I think they'll be ok. they all have to go through transplant shock, if they show signs of life in the next few days, I'm headed out there to dig up a bunch more ;0) their gonna be pretty when they bloom. I can't wait.
This is a start of part of my list here: Since it has warmed up all but one of the variegated hosta has died. I`m going to close my list now and will bring what has been asked for. If I made a mistake or overlooked someone`s post where they asked for something please Dmail me. If you want something please ask.
Are you bringing me one of those on Saturday, KA?
By the way, I've been meaning to tell you that two of the hardy hibiscus that you gave me are showing some green leaves! I thought they were dead, but it appears that they made it through the winter. They are still very small, though. One is the copper king and I think the other is fantasia or something like that. Oh, and one of the other salvias you gave me is also putting out green leaves--can't think of the name of it but I believe it is blue something or other.
I haven't actually put up a "list" just posts with diff things so I figure I should do it right! Here's what I have so far:
NOID EE's (they are just starting to come up, waiting to see what they are and how many)
limelight artemisa (sp?)
Jewels of Opar
I'll have to look around and see what else is out there that didn't die with the freezes..
I hope this helps!!! Check out the names on my 1st post. Each trader will have to edit your original post to make changes but this will eliminate some of the scanning that we have all been doing!!! Just click on each link next to the trader's name.
That is so neat jeri, I just edited my list to add everybody's wanted plants from me, and aded the speciosis milkweed,
If you need to go to your original post to edit it, just click return to this thread and it brings you right to your post where you posted your trade list. It's so convenient. no more weeding through all the posts!! Thanks Jeri.
Beck, may I please get one of the red confederate roses if you still have one available...
Ok, last chance on the Red and Yellow Marbles 4:00s... the million or so that I have in my bed are going to have to be drastically reduced. If no one is interested they are history. They are my favorite 4:00s... but I don't need a 6 X 6' space of the them! ^_^
Hi Ems_Garden, Well, the tree did not survive the more harsh than usual winter we had this year but it was beautiful and lasted until January, started looking rough in February and that is when it died. I thought I cut off all the seedheads to avoid too many volunteers but still I found some.
We even lost all our normally hardy here banana trees. We are going to be having a bit shorter banana trees this year since what has made it is the baby banana plants coming from the rhizomes.
Karen please call me Emily or Em, we met at Jeri's hmmm year before last I guess it was.
This winter was esp. hard. at least it lasted as long as it did. (edited to add that I am talking about the castor bean not the winter! lol)
I thought all of my bananas had died but I found one lonely little one that has survived. Am hoping it will take off and grow big and strong. If not, think I will give up, I have not had any success with them.
Emily.. I have several bananas too, and they are just now coming back up through the middle.. so yours might also, in fact I have been very pleasantly surprised that most all my plants survived last winter... heck it might have made them have a party thinking they weren't in hot TX anymore..LOL
For those of you that don't know the story.. Clemmie... Clemmen on the silly thread we're on in the parking lot, said all us country hicks were goonies.. she meant boonies... sooo that is why Sandra called me her goonie friend.. and proud of it!!
Sandra.. no bowing needed.. you might fall on the floor laughing so hard, and then I'll have to help you up..LOL.. well actually we'd have to help each other up!!
I've finally got my list up.
I hate I'm so late getting it up. I wasn't sure I would be able to dig anything there for a while so I held off posting. The list is short but if you know anything that you want that is not posted, just let me know.
Terrye.. I'd really like the Tradescantia :Clifford's Blueberry Sundae" (1)... Kerria japonica Yellow Rose of Texas...and
Red Penstemon NOID.. pelase?? Be sure and get some more of mine please! Thanks!
Plenty! I'm just not letting myself ask for anything. lol
I planned on cutting back this year, but when everyone gets to talking plants and the lists go up, it's hard to say No.
I worked the last few days getting all the stuff I stil have in pots from last year in the ground. When I was searching for spots to put those in, it made be remember why I'm cutting back! lol
Then you're on the right track.. Terrye.. now you need more!!!..LOL.. Please... I am having a ball getting new plants.. (at least to me they're new) from all of you, so please take all you want from mine... really..lol.. I need to make room too!
I saw the arum at someone's house a couple of weeks ago. I had never seen one before. It is on my list to buy. They did tell me it is primarily a winter plant sort of like the hellebore. They said it will die back in the summer. Kathy Ann can probably tell us more.
senecahillperennials.com sells alot of varieties of these arums, I think I have 4 other varieties now, but their not multiplying at all. 3 of them are 3 years old they should be huge by now.
The arum italicum has to be older plants before it will get the red candlestick seed pods, and when that thing drops all its seeds, the little seeds become plants, so if you have good soil, i'd pick those seeds and pitch them if you dont' want them all over the place. I don't have mine all over the place though
Terrye: if you have one left, i would like a Rudbeckia "Goldsturm" please?
I am bringing your Gentle Giant daffodil bulbs this week-end to Rita's. Have you all checked the weather forecast for that area? Our forecast is for thunderstorms on Friday night and all day Saturday according to the NWS--doesn't sound good for out trip plans. This is supposed to reach into western TN and northern MS, too.
...SEVERE WEATHER POSSIBLE FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT...THEN A MAJOR
SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK EXPECTED SATURDAY...
A COMPLEX WEATHER SITUATION IS UNFOLDING FOR FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.
A WARM...MOIST...AND UNSTABLE AIRMASS WILL OVERTAKE THE MIDSOUTH
FRIDAY AFTERNOON. THIS UNSTABLE AIRMASS IN COMBINATION WITH
STRENGTHENING WIND SHEAR COULD CAUSE SOME SEVERE STORMS TO DEVELOP
LATE FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND PERSIST THROUGH LATE FRIDAY EVENING.
THE UNCERTAINTY OF FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT HINGES ON WHETHER AN
UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE CAN TRIGGER THUNDERSTORMS. HOWEVER...ANY
THUNDERSTORM THAT MANAGES TO DEVELOP DURING THIS TIME HAS A GOOD
CHANCE OF BECOMING SEVERE WITH DAMAGING WINDS AND LARGE HAIL GIVEN
THE SEVERE THREAT INCREASES MARKEDLY SATURDAY AS A RAPIDLY
STRENGTHENING SURFACE LOW TRACKS FROM SOUTH TEXAS TO SOUTHERN
ILLINOIS. A MAJOR SEVERE WEATHER OUTBREAK IS LIKELY TO UNFOLD
BY LATE SATURDAY MORNING ACROSS MOST OF THE MIDSOUTH. THE BEST
CHANCE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS SATURDAY WILL BE ALONG AND EAST OF
THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER. EVEN STRONGER WIND SHEAR AND A CONTINUATION
OF UNSTABLE CONDITIONS COULD PRODUCE TORNADOES...LARGE HAIL...AND
WIDESPREAD WIND DAMAGE WITH STORMS. FLASH FLOODING WILL ALSO BE
THE BEST WINDOW FOR SEVERE WEATHER WILL BE FROM 4 PM TO MIDNIGHT
FRIDAY...AND FROM 10 AM TO 7 PM SATURDAY.
At the May RU someone gave me some salvia that I have labeled Kayamal Salvia. It is really growing good but I can't find it when I do a google search. I must have it misspelled! Who gave this to me and what is the right name?
Well, ka, dogs in the garage is worse than just not being able to sleep! Appreciate the plant.
Whoever is fixing the trade lists...please figure out how to bring a copy of mine on the other site to here. I tried to copy and paste, but I got kicked out for my hard work. I'm having trouble staying logged on here. Constantly re-logging in.
I'll be gone tonight to a mtg. Hope ya'll don't do anything fun without me!
If anyone wants any moonvine, I'm going to have plenty!! I bought some seed this fall and they sent me another package as a freebie. I started one batch several weeks ago and they did so well I started another batch this weekend. They have already sprouted. I soaked the seed for about 24 hours and then cut into each one with a knife. They should be ready to go into the ground by the Jeri's RU.

Ya'll have a good night, i'm gonna try to sleep so I can drive tomorrow.
Charlotte.. could i get a couple of your moon Vines??? I am going to plant VINES..LOL.. I don't like vines, cause I have to pull them out of everywhere here, as we have a LOT in the woods... but am going to see what all the fuss is about VINES!! Please??..Thanks!
Kathy , may I please have a start of the pantaloons campanula if still available. I would also like a start of each of the monardas . Do you find those monarda invasive? I don't want anything I have to fight to keep under control...
I may also want a start of the Clara Curtis. I think I have the Mary Stoker Mum... but I need to verify that it isn't the Clara Curtis. I just planted three small plants for Bluestone last year and this year the patch is at least three feet across! I need to double check the name in case someone wants it !
I think because Jeri is the one who made the post for you, Sandi, that she is the only one who will be able to edit that particular post. Maybe you should try copy and pasting your post on cubits into whatever word processing program you use and then copy and paste it from there to DG since you can't copy and paste directly into DG, for some reason.
I did copy and paste to the original post of my trades above...but I can't edit the one Jeri added at the beginning of the thread. Only in that post of mine. It's okay...looks like things are winding down anyway! if I find more things to post I'll just post an alert.
yes the monarda is invasive but it's easy enough to keep pulled. so let me know, genna if you want it, and let me know what kinds I had on my have list LOL it's not bad invasive, but you do have to pull the unwanted each year. there's much worse to have in your garden that 's invasive. Marilyn backed out of coming to Rita's the storms are suppose to be severe and tornaic activity.
I see that Kathy Ann and Kim aren't doing without internet service while they are away from home! LOL
Yes, I chose not to be on the road with all the unstable weather around, both here in Arkansas and on over in TN and MS. I was just going along for the fellowship and fun, not to buy plants, anyway. Now that I'm not going, I certainly won't be tempted to buy plants that I don't really need! LOL Everybody be safe today if you are in the areas that are having the bad weather!
Karen, I am putting your name on a Blue Fortune Agastache! :o))
We had another major cell come thru about 6:00 this morning - then a few minutes ago the sun was shining and I thought it was finally going to clear out - now it is pouring again! MAYBE this is the last bit... with a track meet and prom we could REALLY use some sunshine to dry up this rain that got dumped last night! Not sure how much we got - but it was quite a bit.
they can be invasive, last year was my first year for fruit, if I hadn't of picked all the fruit off and hauled it off and dumped it , the seeds would have sprouted and taken over. so be care ful where you plant this. The fruit is good tastting but is kind of like a passiflora or a pomagranite, where the fruit is all around the seeds, you have to suck it off the seeds then spit it out, and it's not worth it LOL so I just dump them, the deer like them though.
it's great for covering a fence though Smells heavenly also. you do need two varieties to get fruit, so if you plant just one variety it shouldn't fruit and spread all over the place and you can just enjoy the fragrant flowers.
Jeri I would like some of the candy corn please. I know it probably will not live for me - I am 7b... but it is so cute, I would love to try.
Do you have your black bamboo in a pot? I think I would like to try it, but I would need to contain it in a pot I think to keep it from taking over in my sandy soil... didn't know if it got way too big for a pot ???
Hi Genna I'll put you down for the Candy corn. The black bamboo is in the ground and it does spread but so far I have been able to contain it by digging it and giving it away. You'll see it when you are here.
Becky...is there a way to copy the trade list I have above in the thread and just make a new trade list link? The link above is one that was carried over from the other site. When I try to edit the link, it doesn't copy. Looks like I'm not listing anything...unless someone finds the post in the middle of this thread... aggggggghhhhhhh
And the one Jeri brought over...is posted under her name and I can't edit it...
Sandi... I am not a guru.. I am a dummy on wheels and the wheels don't roll all the time..LOL... After you click on you link from up top you can then click on the Plant Swap-May 15,2010 RU that is in the upper left hand corner and it will take you back to your original post where you can edit... wait for the page to fully load. It should then take you to the post where you originally posted your list. Hope this helps!!
OH I had to come here and brag. ALL the poppies I dug 2 or 3 days ago, o r right after I got back from Rita's are all doing FABULOUS. no wilt hardly at all. and about 4 or 5 that I thought I lost are coming back, and the black knight buddleia are standing straight up, so I have high hopes for the rest of the buddleia.
Ruth has a doc appt today, I told her to let me know what she finds out. She had a fall about 2 weeks ago and hurt her shoulder and it is not getting better.
She and I will be crying on each others shoulders the next few days.
I am going to miss seeing everyone too. I know it will be so much fun
Since Jeri is too much of a lady to remind everyone, be sure and have some cash to pay for the Voodoo BBQ she will be serving---I think we gave 10 bucks each last time !
She might also appreciate some drinks or water bottles, and you will need to take a lawn chair if you can too.
I do need a volunteer to eat some BBQ for me too !!! I will send my 10 bucks if you do !!
Sandra.. I've already volunteered to eat your portion too..lol... I'll be thinking of you on each chew..LOLOL.. I'm glad you're bringing this up, cause I bet I'll have a fight on my hands if i offer money!! BUT I know how to make a plan come together..LOL.. BTW will we be doing door prizes??
I know.. it's way too much for them to absorb all the costs for all of us having a greater time than they will!..LOL... We haven't had to spiff up our places to host this RU! YAY Ruth!! LOL sooo door prizes or no??
