Palms, banana plants (like white bird of paradise), and any broad-leaved evergreen plants are good starters. Choose plants with salt-tolerance, as chlorinated water contains salt. Some tropical hibiscus will add some nice color as well. I would stay away from bougainvillea and other plants of the sort unless you want to risk thorns and messy cleanup in your new pool.
