...cover your skin when handling. These beautiful plants can cause an allergic dermatitis (painful, itchy, red) rash more irritating than poison ivy or oak. Fortunately my dermatologist is a Master Gardener and recognized it.
Thanks, that's one of the first things I pointed out in my article because my DH had an unfortunate episode with the sap from our Euphorbias. We've never had a problem with rashes but he forgot one time after pruning ours and rubbed his eyes!!! It almost required a trip to the emergency room but even though his eyes "bled" for 2-3 days he was successful using eye washes to avoid a hospital visit :( I do know that anyone with latex allergies has to take serious precautions to avoid the sap when handling these plants, can be nasty stuff!
