I love new t-shirts! All different kinds and all different colors. Thats the one souviner that I will always buy. Would any one be interested in a swap of a newly purchased t-shirt ? They can be mailed cheaply as well. I think $20 would be a great price point including shipping. What do you think? We would have to state size but everything else would be up to your buddy.
I will take names till Mon May the 7th. Divie up the names and get them out to you ladies by the 10th. Shirts should be recieved by the 31st of May. How does that sound?

Hey Cathy, Count me in. You're off to a fantastic start and have already shown us what a fine hostess you are! Living in the Historic rolling hills of Virginia, our County is famous for being the "Moonshine Capital of the World". We also have a local shop that still does custom tied-dyed T-shirts.
No Navy Blue or Black or White for me please. Not trying to be picky but dark colors are too hot in Summer and I'm a Pigpin when I wear White.
Size XL in any light shades of Pink, Green or Yellow. Ya never know when I'll need a new nighty.
I was just saying durn no t shirts for this summer others wore out so many yrs wore them holes ect.lol. but i don't know if i can manage let you know in day or two this is neat idea.. if can't don't getback here i can't everyone have fun fun./..
Hi everybody! I received my tshirt yesterday.. it came from our hostess herself :) And I have to admit that I cried when I saw it.. it's a memorial shirt for the miners who died in the WVA mines last month. Such a horrible thing for all the families and friends of those brave men.
It's a gray shirt and the front has just a round circle up on the left side with .. well, I'll post a pic of it, cause my description wouldn't explain well enough. The back of the shirt is the more "decorated" part..
Thank you Cathy..I will wear it with pride..it is a very special shirt.
Here's the front first..I did a very close up pic of the circle..
Ok, I got delayed but the t-shirt is now at the post office. Sure hope my swap buddy like it...
Ps. Sorry to hear you were sick Cat. I know how it feels I was sooo sick right before we went on vacation and for the first couple of days we were gone too. Did you have that horrible virus that was passing around?
Chris I got your tshirt, sorry it took me so long to post. I got home Monday afternoon, and have been sick, then I found this huge pile of mail hubby left for me to open! I love the Iowa t shirt, and yes it does fit just fine! Love the emory board also! Thanks again for the beautiful t shirt!
Whoo Hoo Taters,, Love the t-shirt!!. Hope my partner gets hers today. I got oooodles of stuff in the mail today but no t-shirt. I love this swap I like getting new stuff in the mail! Feels like x-mas every time I get a box!
Cat, I still owe you something, I have not forgot,, just hate sending out one tiny thing alone in a box. I am trying to get that figured out.
Nothing a'tall wrong with dropping hints, Elfie. Chris's tab for the Round-Up, so far, is two margueritas in exchange for the Houseplants I've reserved for her. Thought I might be able to bribe her with a T-shirt and wipe her slate clean. Mum's the word though...shhh, don't t tell her. Keep working on a ride, Kris! It won't be the same without you.
2 margaritas would be more fun!! But the tshirt would last longer... sigh... darn it, Fruitie..I'll decide before the RU! lol!
Sure wish I was going through AL, I would gladly pick up Kris :)
LK, I've been having a real fun time (NOT) with the post office lately..I was just hoping they hadn't sent your tshirt out of the country or something LOL..I'm glad you like it..it even shows Burlington on it :)
With the long weekend ahead of me, house cleaned, gardens and yard up to speck I'm ready for playing..the t-shirt package will be in the mail by Tuesday...our service is closed Saturday and Monday due to holidays..always nice to get those swap packages out and not have to fret over them...
I recieved mine today, it was prob here yest but i couldnt muster the energy to go to the po. I love it!! I will post photos later today. Thanks so very much Susan (FOTV) you did a wonderful job of picking out the perfect shirt 4 me.
Soooo not only did I get 2 lovely t-shirts from Jean but knowing my love of crafting and sewing and I'll just bet knowing I joined the Christmas block exchange didn't she include the most beautiful pieces of Christmas material...absolutely love them..
I've patterns picked for several of the quilt blocks that I'm sure these will be perfect for..was in the Quilt and Knit shop the other day and they said they'd not get their Christmas print materials in for yet anothe 2 or 3 months so talk about excited when I saw what was in my box...
Ask me if I'm happy..yep .. jumping up and down..
A very very big thank you to you Jean..it's much appreciated...
and...they do fit! lol
You just got to love those DG friends...talk about special people~
Betty- So glad the box arrived & the shirts fit!!!! I know you often have to come "south" to shop for fabric so thought I'd save you a trip!!! Besides, I need to start thinning my stash.
I'm in Williamsburg, VA this weekend. Not sure what all we are going to do. When I lived down here (a few years ago) you could do a lot in the historic areas for free. Now, they have built nice Visitor Centers, and charge $$$ just to "look". But, the Pottery is still "Free" so I do believe we will head in that direction.
Perhaps I'll find a t-shirt waiting for me when I get back home.
I got a nice, BRIGHT blue (I did say I wanted color) "T" from Barbara (greenwood46). It was waiting for me when I got back from a weekend get away. Blue with FL oranges - bright orange. It will be a nice addition to my collection.
Checked the tracking, lordy/lordy, mailed from Barrie on Thursday morning before 9am, just checked, last posting was the 28th in Mississauga and zilch..no other listing..not a fan of tracking because it's not accurate..in my RWB it made no other notation other than when it arrived in USA...so dear swap buddy, who knows???? Maybe a border custom agent needed something clean to wear and saw 't-shirt' on the package... hope the color matched his eyes...
My cousin lives in Lafayette, Ind. Can't remember exactly how far it is.
In our little village of 400, we have a 4th of July parade that has been going on for over 100 years. There was a small amusement park here, Chippewa Lake Park, that was very involved in that, and many of us have fond memories of the rides, ballroom and concerts. Our village was originally vacation cottages from the early 1900's on. Over 7,000. people come to our parade annnually, which is sponsored by our Lions Club.
It's the kind of parade some of us remember when we were kids. High school bands, kids on bikes, Shriner's on mo-peds, local garden clubs, w/ floats, etc. , followed by a free show by our water-ski team. We are still pretty old-fashioned down here, and also have a great Labor Day village dance on the beach!
Beautiful lake, and friendly people. Returned here after 30 years in Calif. and can truly say you can go home again!
It is! And the best thing is that many of us are very different in life situations, income, stability or lack of, but people totally pull together when someone is hurting.
My 16 year old put it best, when he moved here from growing up in Calif., "Mom, in Chippewa Lake people still say hi and talk to you even if they don't agree with you!"
(I'm the zoning admin. so he's seen strong opinions presented...) Respect for other's views, and really listening, even when regulations can't be modified, often taken the sting out of unpopulalar decisions. When you're this small you gotta work together when the lights go out!
We're not perfect but we'll sure say hi, and share what we have!
Glad your package arrived...not knowing Goobers size, am hoping hers will fit..as for yours, well let's hope I didn't cut the neck line too large...was fun doing an old craft again..times change, after looking at it for quite some time I thought perhaps it looked a bit childish..then a brainstorm hit, you both can use it to garden with..can't go wrong looking like a pretty flower now can you + being black you'll just blend in..lol
I am a T shirt Nut and i never tought there were that many out there . that colected them my wife and I thought about making a Quilt out of the fronts of T Shirts from States of the USA Nothing Fancy Judt one Big Quilt . I Think it would Be Really Kool.
I do have T shirts from Places where i was station in service and in the states where i was stationed put back we have a list of the states complied .to build the quilt but it's put on the back burner for now lol we will get a round to it lol their in a ceder chest . its like a winter project thing.
Winter is the best time to think of such projects, right now it's gardening tme and outdoor activities..is though a good time to put your thoughts together on how you would do it so you can collect necessary supplies...
Sounds as though you've been stationed many places, how wonderful it would be to have a memory quilt and each time you look at a block to relive the good times of where they were obtained..
Thats my Mother-in -laws name God rest her soul she was an angle to all who knew her feed everyone that ever stoped by and well i might add. she loved to cook . the field garden i just bloged about its a memory of her and for my neghbor's Dad that still runs the road side market
yes , there are four famliy and all of us have gardens plus fields planted corn, beans, taters, maters, and many other things, and then there is The Market Garden as well it will be set up at the road side market and sold and there are a few famliys that we help every year with veggies and such .
Ret_Sgt_Yates, your veggie garden is outstanding. I can't imagine traveling like you and your family have and on Flag Day today, thank you so much for your service to our Country! Your t-shirt collection sounds extensive and the idea of making a quilt out of them just might be the ticket. I'm game for another t-shirt swap anytime Catbirdsue is.
Oh, please watch next May and join us for the Red, White, and Blue exchange. I think you'd especially enjoy that one:
Due to some personal health, family issues, I've been off-line for several weeks, AND about a week ago my son told me a package had come for me and that he forgot to tell me (left it in the breezeway where everything ends up stacked on a chair)...grrrrr...of course, it was the beautiful tshirt and WONDERFUL jewelry that Charleen (ridesredmule) made... I am just thrilled-you picked my fav color too!
I've worn the jewelry. The copperwork is just beautiful. I am, what I called craft-impaired LOL, and your skills are wonderful. The beading is beautiful. It is so special have something hand-crafted by such a generous, creative person.
'pologies again for the delay, but I was able (before I broke my phone screen-another long story) to get a good pic of the t...
Though I disappeared from the co-op for a bit, but it's been great getting to know all of you so to speak LOL...I am back (I hope LOL)
I do have pierced ears, and have some turquiouse earrings that will be lovely with the rest. Thank you again so much.
Although the rest of me isn't, LOL , I do have tiny wrists. I usually can't stand bracelets cuz they fall over my hands but this one is just the right size.
What a blessing all of you are. We are in recovery mode here, and my Dad went back home-to his place with his part-time caregiver two days ago, and seems to be doing well. Thanks for the good thoughts... ;)
