In my area of California (Santa Barbara County) Aloes are extensively used in landscapes both private and public. Aloe mite disfigures many, especially in installations where they are stressed by heat, exhaust fumes, irregular water (too much or too little), and improper planting.
I would be interested in any stories of success with systemics or preventive treatment of new aquisitions. It sounds like quarantine could last many years and is no sure solution.
