Thank you for featuring the park in your weekly newsletter.
I was raised in Lombard and my mother onlyrecently moved
after calling Lombard home for over 50 years.
I was a ticket taker at the park for a summer when I was in high school, and can
say it is a beautiful park.
I live in Ontario Canada now, but I do miss my home town. Your article brought
    home some great memories.

I think the lilacs do a lot to give Lombard a sense of community, make it someplace special.

Thank you for bringing the luscious smell of lilacs to my mind. I was a kid in WI and loved it when the lilac bloomed. I still love the smell, but cannot get it here in CA, except occasionally at a florist. Even if you find where someone has been able to grow a lilac tree, it does not smell the same. Their are California Lilac trees, but they only carry the name, not the look or smell.
