I sometimes cut the bottom from those flexible 1, 1 1/2, 2 gallon plastic pots that plants come in and use for this purpose plus wind protection for new plants until they get established. I flip them upside down and rotate into the ground at planting time. They can then be rotated out later on without disturbing the plant or they can be left in place. They may also provide some cutworm and rabbit protection.
