I am glad that you enjoyed your trip. We really do have one of the most interesting and beautiful spring wildflower collections of any state in the country. It's wonderful to take those early spring jaunts in the woods and I do it quite often (Even in the snow).

Wildflowers and Ferns of Kentucky is another excellent book and my main resource when hiking. Try the Red River Gorge in the springtime some year, it is amazing.

I love hearing from some of the Kentucky gardeners! I'd imagine you all grew up knowing the names of all of these plants, but several of them were new to me!

My college roommate, who was from the Chicago area, used to be greatly amused at my ability to name all the weeds. A few years of walking beans will do that to a person. ^_^
