i'm interested in purchasing some poppy seeds to sow this winter, wondering if these would be true from seed.

First off, I purchased a large amount of bombast poppy seed from an ebayer last fall and so far everyone of them is a single lavender bloom. ws really disappointed, although the flower is georgious, I really wanted those double blooms

blue himalayan
peony type poppies
hens & chicks, I really want these for the seed pod

anything that i should stay away from purchasing on ebay that doesn't come true from seed?

These all grow true from seed. The problem is whether the person growing them for seed isolates them or not. The single lavender petaled poppy is the default P. somniferum. Still, I would expect to find at most a few single lavenders in a pack of any poppies but not the whole pack. Makes me think someone just ripped you off and sold you regular poppy seed from the store for named varieties.

I have my doubts about the Himalaian blue.
They like it in the northwest.I have tried to get them to germinate for years.
No luck at all.
