i just purchased a small orange esperanza. i failed to ask the best location to plant the poor thing. i have roses along my fence line. as well as some jasmine that i am trying to train to climb.

Hi-I just checked the Texas Superstars page I had for Gold Star (yellow) esperanza and it likes full sun I believe the orange would too.

My Esperanza froze to the ground the first year I put it in. It came back, and has bloomed constantly this summer. I did purchase a "Yellow Star." No joke about being a superb cultivar!
They are used in commercial landscaping even THIS far North.
