Last fall I mentioned that DH got the dahlia bug and volunteered to plant them between all my iris clumps along the road. I figured he would change his mind once he started digging holes. He hung in there, did hire our grandson who thinks we are completely nuts, but we planted 150 dahlias this spring. Along the road we have 67, this is how they look now, hope it turns out well. The rest, including 8 from todgor (thank you very much) went in two different gardens. This is the first year that I potted them up early and it seemed to work well. However, it was really warm the last two weeks of May so we were able to get them in the ground earlier than usual. So far, things look good.
you know, queequeg, I never really appreciated my green grass until I started spending my winters in Florida. I had no idea grass could be such a problem. The grass I do have there in Zephyrhills, looks like my crab grass at home. I just laugh at it.
