TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh my Charleen.. did Charley help with the blooms??

You need to give Mama lessons to us all!

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

There's probably some Charley somewhere it can draw strength from.
Let me show you this sunflower that came up in some Charley Poo.
I didn't plant it, I guess the birds did. But there is poo thru-out that garden.

(Linda Kay) Del Rio, TX(Zone 9a)

I would love some too please? But you need to send instructions. I have never used poo for tea!
Let me know how much you need for postage!
Thanks

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

How much yo want to buy. You know the worst part is the postage. I will send it to your for postage. Easy to get boxes. I get pkg. all the time. I'm going to P.O. and see what box I can get with no weight limit. that will be best way. You all think so??? If you have any idea let me know. I will be glad to work wih you. I don't mind palying in donkey/mule poo. I wish you all could have seen me when I mailed Debra and Thunders Boxes of Tea. I was laughing all the way out the door.

Deb, How much poo do you put in a gal of water??? a cup????

(Linda Kay) Del Rio, TX(Zone 9a)

Go to usps.com, and you can order the boxes for free, they even ship them to your house for free.

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

Your Bassett Hounds are adorable, happ! I've never had one but love their sad eyes and long ears. Do they dig like your rogue? LOL

Oh my....I'm so sorry some babies didn't make it but am proud of others putting on blooms, and l@@kie Neener has another one to raise.

I'm home and the nursery is ready for my Baby! Ya think it might be a late bloomer? By the way, Jaybird, my octuplet Gingers are doing well, thanks to my friend who watered everything while we were on vacation. I still have to come up with four more names, they were preemies, ya know.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I had to trim back Lady M, she had too much root growth, her new leaves are peeking tho.

( Kris) Smiths, AL(Zone 8a)

My Dad is in total Renal Failure and is not a transplant canidate. He has been sick for a very long time,, but seems it is much worse in the last couple of months and both my mom and husband want me to go before he passes. I have not been there in 3 years. I leave on the 6th or 7th of July, and then I will be gone for a week.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Kris, yes, it is good you are going and just know we will all have you and your family in our thoughts and prayers. Keep us updated.

Yikes, Debra I had to stop a minute when I read you "trimmed back Lady M" as I am sometimes referred to as that--didn't think anyone had trimmed anything on me lately> LOL

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

aww Kris , thinking of you and your family right now.. prayers stay for you and yours.

(jax) Dundalk, MD(Zone 7a)

( Kris) Smiths, AL(Zone 8a)

(jax) Dundalk, MD(Zone 7a)

..............jist close yer eyes, sweet lil elf,..........i will be there, holding yer hand!!!

( Kris) Smiths, AL(Zone 8a)

Awww, you guys are great.

(Linda Kay) Del Rio, TX(Zone 9a)

Kris, so sorry to hear about your Dad. Sending lots of thoughts and prayers to you. Hope you have a very safe trip!
Keep us posted please?

Leesburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Safe trip Elfie. I love Vegas. I'll go with you. I can drink your share. ;0)

Neener

( Kris) Smiths, AL(Zone 8a)

Ohh really!! Please do,,, You just have to show up at McCarren Airport by 3 pm on the 7th of July,,,lol

The hotel is already paid for. I am going to be staying off strip at the Boulder Station Hotel and Casino. It is 4 blocks from my parents house, so I can walk there every day or Mom will pick me up. See I will not have to be fighting all the Vegas 1 million plus bad drivers except going to and from the hotel and I can shop near the hospital,,shopping is walking distance there too!! So I am hoping to really really avoid being in traffic very much. Or I will get around by the bus system I can get an unlimited pass for $20.00 for the 6 days I will be there. I can be cheap and safe at the same time. Of course if Marion / Maid M was driving I would be safer yet,, she is one of the rare folks that I would let drive me anywhere!!

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

Elfie, You know I'll be right there with you in Spririt, virtually holding your hand and giving it a tight squeeze :)

( Kris) Smiths, AL(Zone 8a)

Thanks Fruity,, I keep forgetting that since I am over 50, that my parents are over 70 and they really have had it rough with 5 girls and have had several heart attacks each. My mom is a trouper and well dad is,,, well dad. He litterly has only 1/4th of a heart. The rest is pacemakers and other stuff I donot understand. Now with the kidney stuff it is getting to where his time here is getting shorter. I think we have all been expecting him to pass for awhile now, which is just an awful feeling. I know he is miserable. But I am still going to try to have a good time with them. I know most of this makes no sence and I am sorry to go on and on..
Night all

Leesburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Elfie you just say whatever come to mind. I'm having a similar situation with my Dad too. He has bad cancer and is in chemo. No one knows the outcome for sure, but the best they can do is buy him some time. No cure for sure. It's just going to be one of those years. Fortunately I'm not that far away and I can go visit whenever I want to and help them out and do things with them.

We'll all be thinking of you,
Neener

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

((((((Kris)))))) ((((Neener))))

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Oh my!!
I just got through posting on SI that my dad died of renal failure at 51, and here you are Kris.

Hugs!!! You're in fact very fortunate that you'll be able to spend time with him. When dad was in shutdown mode, I was in Egypt, and my family couldn't get hold of me in time. I couldn't tell him goodbye.

Neener, know that we'll be here for you as well.

Right now, my mind's pretty waylaid by Kel's dad too. When one family member is seriously ill, it affects the rest.. provided the family dynamics is there.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Kris, if I were able I would drive you to LV--that is a huge compliment and I do thank you BUT believe it or not, I hated to drive until Ross was told he could no longer drive due to his eyes. Learned really fast it was as bad as I thought. I will be with you also in thought and spirit.

Neener--thinking of you also. It isn't easy but then no one said (or if they did I missed it) life would be easy. We just pull on our inner strength and trust.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Sometimes we wonder where that inner strength comes from.
I figured, if you're like me Maid M.. we don't think.. just put one foot ahead of the other and do what needed to be done.

Leesburg, VA(Zone 7a)

You got that right Marion. No one ever promised me a rose garden.

Jaye I hope things settle down for you and Kel. You guys deserve a break now.

Leesburg, VA(Zone 7a)

Funny you should say that Jaye about the inner strength. My Mom and I already had a discussion about that. Neither one of us is ready to go all weepy just yet. That doesn't help anyone and doesn't get the job done either. So head down and plug on forward. That's my motto for life. :0)

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thank you Neener. You too need to 'regroup' yourself.

I'll be getting my break at the Sistahs Reunion in a couple of weeks' time. Kel can't come along as much as he'd enjoyed last year, as his father's truly dependant on him.
But then, that would be Kel's break right? No Jaye to fuss.. watch all those MASH dvds.. play his reggae loud!! Lol!!
And oh yes.. he'll be enjoying his boiled peanuts and drinking all the soda he wants!! ROF!

Barnesville (Charle, GA(Zone 8b)

Head Up!! Walk proud. the battle is just starting. Fight it for all you're worth. WE is on your side.

Blue Ridge Mtns, VA(Zone 7a)

Ditto, Charlene, and so well-spoken. I never have the right words to say but do know about inner strength and how real it is. {{{Big Hugs Elfie, Neener, and Jaybird}}}

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I am just saying prayers for all of you going thru these trying times. I know that without Daves Garden Folks last year, I wouldn't have made it thru while caregiving until the end with Pauline as well as I did. You are all special and I know it is hard to lose family, but we will see everyone in the end. Anyway, I look forward to seeing all my family up there in Heaven when I get there. I miss them all. I agree with Charleen... Head up, one day at a time, do what you have to and when you can.. come here for support. We love you. We know your family loves you and they know you love them.

I went to the dr today. I did not get any boxes sent out. I can't say I am sorry enough. I got everything ready , tho, and as soon as I can stand, walk, bend and drive, I will get things out in the mail. Until then, everything is growing in their little containers. My hats are sitting patiently to go out for another swap I am in. I feel helpless and frustrated.
This too shall pass. At least I don't have to have surgery. It is just a little cracked bone sliver in the L4 hitting a nerve. I guess that will teach me to not ask for help when I need it here at home. He told me I will break alot more bones if I don't be careful. I guess I will be more careful of what I do. Osteoporosis and five fused together vertabres will just snap and crack when I try to bend, pull, push and lift anything. I was worried it was a herniated disc, he laffed. I don't have any discs left to herniate down there. The good news I got today was, my copd has not progressed!
Well, I have stood on the soap box too long, so sorry.

Goodness Debra, I did not know you were in such pain! OUCH! Prayers going out for you too! Please take care. I too have a dozen boxes on my front porch, waiting for the postman to pick up. I finally tried the online postage at usps.com, and oh my. I really like to sit at my computer, weigh the packages enter all the info, and then wait for the postman. I don't have to put them in the car, carry them into the post office and stand inline anymore!

Please know I am sending lots of thoughts and prayers to all those in need. So many of us are going through trying times, and I for one am very glad you are all here for shoulders to lean on. So you all just keep on talking, and keep us posted!

Leesburg, VA(Zone 7a)

LK I wouldn't do any of this swap thing or anything else on DG if I had to go to the P.O.. I have stamps.com and with the carrier pick up it is no fuss. With the auctions that I sometimes have going on it is a Godsend. The average wait in our local post office is 1/2 hour.

Debra try to take it a little easier. I know I should talk. It's hard to remember that the body isn't as young as the mind at this age. It really isn't fair. They say that youth is wasted on the young and suddenly I understand that so well. :))

Everyone we all are moving forward together, sharing each others pains, sadness, happiness and joys. That is what friends do! Jaye, I had two options, deny or make the best of what was happening--much like you and Kel. It would have been much easier to just play ostrich (hole in the sand) but then that isn't me.

Debra, take care of yourself--there is only 1 you, Neener going all weepy doesn't do anything but make you feel worse (if possible) so go forward day by day and relish every moment you have with your dad. That goes for all.
