I have heard that these plants are poisionus to animals when eaten
Is this true.. or only certain bougAINVILLEA

some people and animals supposedly can get a mild contact dermatitis from being scratched by the thorns and getting the waxy coating on or under their skin, but realistically I don't think any Bougainvilleas are really considered a toxic threat, particularly not if eaten.
