I've said time and time again, how great Betty's talent is!
Give me paint by numbers and I'll still be missing some!! Maybe I should stick with abstract or just plain stick figures.

Certainly, we have great artists here. Deb, do you sell your work?

Going to do the only creative process I do best.. cutting fabrics :D

Betty if I could paint like that, I would stay "carried away". All so beautiful. LOL, I too know what you could do with that tray.

Thanks for the compliments and again I have to say it's NOT talent, there is a process, once you know the process you are off and running...

My kids have so many painted pieces and asked that I give them no more mom please! heavy on the NO MORE!!! lol

Then we went from outside decor, then to stained glass and again I get NO MORE sooo unless it's something I can use I don't paint...

I'm late in getting my swap out, as usual. Hoping to get it out tomorrow. I did my short walk over to city hall to get liscense for dogs so that is out of the way. My Sami needs to have a couple back teeth pulled, so she is going to have to get a job to help pay for her medical. Costs more in vet bills than I pay for medical.

My turn for a drum-roll and 76 Trombones! Oh My Heavens, Liz, what a wonderful box just chocked full of Red, White and Blue! Yes, it arrived yesterday but hubby didn't tell me til today.

She sent so much y'all this is going to have to be in 3 parts...

Part 1
Flag spritzer bottle
OPI Red, White, Blue and Clear nail polish and acrylic tips. I've used OPI nail polish for years and is the best I've ever tried.
2 neat battery-operated votives
Cobalt Blue Glass hummingbird feeder -- yeah, it feeds my glass obsession and the hummers will drink in style.
RWB hand-crocheted scrubber
and a metal "Bless Our Home --- USA" wall hanging that reminds me of a huge old-fashioned Coca-Cola bottle cap. I started collecting Primitives two years ago and have nothing like it :)

Part 2
Flip Flops Liz embellished with eyelash yarn she crocheted around the straps -- love these and they fit perfectly!
Blinking "Star" necklace and strads of Mardi Gras beads
2 USA and 2 '76 mini flags, just the right size for potted plants
Beverage koozie in the shape of a T-shirt -- LOL I've already used it
Very sweet hand-written note telling me she made the flip-flops and scrubber, and wait til you see the dishtowel dress...coming right up.

Liz.. the towel is beautiful!!! So are the flip flops!! You are so talented!! Goodness.. you, Betty and Deb should open a craft store!
So, Susan, you truly had 2 nice surprises, back to back. Your Coral bell and this unexpected treasure trove.
You must be doing something good to be getting such lovelies!!

Living the quiet country life here too, until plowing and harvesting time comes around. There's a huge tobacco field across from us, and if not for the heavy machineries, the rest of the year's pretty calm.
No wait... hunting season affected us too. I rather the sound of machineries than the high powered rifles going off!

Yes, Happy Fathers' Day to papas of you ladies and of course your DHs.

Occasionally we do hear sounds from the highway but not very often. We did have a startling noise one night and not a clue as to what made it--sounds like a very angry large cat hissing then most piercing scream you have heard. Kim and I both woke from a rather sound sleep with goose bumps all over us. Might have been a bobcat or some think it was a coyote.

There is also two very pretty picks with stars for decorating, a glow in the dark flag. I am sure the GK's will love that on the 4th, sippy crazy strtaws the kids will also love. A necklace with starts, and beautiful kitchen towel, pot holders, and oven mitts!
There is more so hold on a few while I get more pictures.

Those candle holders are neat, Faye, but since I'm collecting garden sayings for Elfie's and Goober's September rock swap, my fav has to be the plaque that says "Friends are the flowers that bloom in life's garden".

Wouldn't that be fun, Betty? If that's the case, somebody better get their tushy in gear or you'll be back across the Border.

I was intending on carrying only a carry-on.
Think I better use a regular suitcase. Moreover, there are no rocks here that are big enough for a palm print!!

Hi all, Jaye, of all the flowers I love, and that is all I see blooming, I have never enjoyed the beauty of, or worked harder on than the Brugs. I loved them, pampered them and did everything I thought of to keep them and none of those I had in one of the front beds came back. Of course they would be several that I thought were the prettiest. I will keep trying but I will also have backup cutting of all I can get. If I have to start over each year, then if I can get cuttings, I will.
Love you lady

She is doing very well. It took sometime from lifting and doing what is necessary with Mom but my helping gave her that time. Her ego is worse damaged than anything since I kid her constantly about not distrubing the cat that was sleeping on her cart. I would have moved the cat rather than try to carry a bag that size out into the pasture.

If all goes as planned Kim and I will return home July 1 but only time will tell.

My Red/White/Blue came all the way from Virginia, to Ohio c/o Joyce and will now reside and be treasure here in Ontario, Canada...we celebrated Canada Day yesterday and now I get to do it all over again for July 4th along with my USA friends...how cool is that?

Our Susan went far beyond the call of duty as one might say!!!!

Wow...there are no words to express my appreciation, my way will be to display these items over the next few days and enjoy..

Already the USA patriotic solar lights are in my USA corner of the world on the back deck, am sure tonight they'll look so inviting, the glass candle "Sunset on the Lake" smells wonderful, I'm one of those people however that just hates to light such beautiful candles, but I shall try..

OMG everything for July 4th celebration...I'll start my day smelling very American using the Stars & Stripe soap, then it's off to set my table with a beautiful 11 piece table cloth and napkin set (going to have to invite friends over for sure)...eats will just have to be on back deck because the 4 solar lights will be so inviting...

Got to tell you all, I'm overwhelmed by your generosity Susan...no words, maybe a tear or 2...sure wish you lived closer, you could join me July 4th. for a toast to my 2nd country...

Ouch, Kathy...gosh, girl, are you OK?

Hi Betty, I thought about wishing you a Happy Canada Day yesterday but was afraid I'd give away our secret...lol You know you're under our wings as an honorary USA Citizen and it was a thrill when Jaye gave me your name! What I forgot in my haste to mail your package to Cookie's so it would arrive on time was your RWB card. Everything except the picnic items and Solar Lights (that came from Walmart, LK) I found while we were on vacation. Nothing like going shopping again in my old stomping grounds. Your USA tribute garden looks so pretty! I don't sew but have seen your beautiful work on other threads and wanted you to have enough fabric to "do something with". Light that candle and use the champage glass for a toast later on, even if it's filled with iced coffee or tea. One of these days I'd like nothing better than to meet you in person too and give you a big hug! Along with the rest of you I've not had the pleasure to meet...yet.
Enjoy, My Friend!

it's early morning here, sun is beaming in, great day for post Canada Day celebrations..will be leaving shortly for Elmvale-of course I misread the activity sheet and went Canada Day..2 days early lol so off again..

There will be a couple who won't be receiving theirs in time, but then, the 4th should be celebrated everyday.
We're expecting fireworks tonight at the local school. Kel says he hopes the matches won't get wet as we've been having rain for the past few days!!

We feel so special when Betty's as keen as us to celebrate 4th.
"Happy Belated Canada Day!!"
Ooh Betty!!!! I love your fabrics!!!
Susan you bad girl!! So, you lurked too and had seen that Betty does quilt!
Since that's a champagne glass, I have to say that I regret not getting one of those painted glasses Betty had offered @ Cookie's for I fear it might break on the trip home.
Thank you for being so generous, Susan.
I can tell you this, after meeting Betty... it's hard to say goodbye...

Now Betty.. Liz has already signed up for next year!! Lolol!!!! We know who's next!!!

Maid M., as much as I love my cats, I won't balk at the idea of leaving them all outside for the sake of my safety!!!
Hope your mum's feeling better and you have some rest.

Faye, I'll concentrate on camellias for now.. They're so hardy here.

Have a special weekend everyone!!!

That's not normal, LK.
It might be severely stressed from too much sun. Mulch it well and when watering, perhaps just water the roots and avoid the leaves?
It also loves acid. But for now, I won't overfertilize it.

Good Red White and Blue to all!

OMG, I am so glad you you got the package in record time too!
Glad you like the gifts...
LOL always a story with the crafts, Do-rag took me like 3 times before i figured it out, hahah.
Hope it fits ok, and the shirt too. I figure you & I are about the same size...
You, know, I am learning to quilt and that block came out the wrong size, but I thought how cool it would make as a windsock, fun to do something a little different...

OH and Marilyn, Thank you!! I received my box yesterday as well...just took OH my I love all the RWB items...Already decorated my deck with them...And I used my tote last night, must of brought me luck 'cuz I wond 24.80 at the horse races!!
( a little to you) All of these items ARE very special to me, I Love all these kinds of things, but I don't buy much for myself, lol not on the priority list, So the time you took to look for all those special items is most appreciated again Thank you.

So I have to upload photos,
But here is what Marilyn sent.

A fantastic Patriotic Tote bag
Patriotic Crafts and Cooking book , I love it...LOL read most iof it already too
Flag window stickers
RWB flowers seed mix
A RWB stuffed Donkey!
Oh the Cutest Rag doll dressed in RWB.
An oven mitt and Blue twoels with Stars,
RWB bracelets/and necklace beads
and a little RWB wooden heart.

Oh Judy,,,I am SO relieved! I was afraid you wouldn't get your box before the 4th. I explained in the card,,,mailed out way past the deadline,,,so I am so relieved you received it in time for the 4th. Was worried.
So glad to hear you won at the races! Maybe it did bring you good luck. :) I loved it,,,almost kept it for myself, but I can make another anytime. (that will be a back burner project though, have to many other irons in the fire right now.)
The donkey just cried out,,,'Send me to Judy!) lol

I loved the little patriotic doll,,,it hides your large bottles of dish detergent if you want to put it out in the kitchen. Not to many people I know have the kitchens done in RWB though. hmmmm,,,that's a thought,,,maybe I'll transfer from the livingroom to the kitchen! But then where would I put all my roosters? lol
so glad you received it and liked it. The flag stickers are wall pasties, they are reusable,,,just dampen them and they peel right off whatever you put them on.

And I still owe a pic of all the great things Barefoot sent me. My camera has gone down. Son bought it new for me at Christmas, and he saw ahead and got me a warranty on it. So in the shop. His travels with him to out of state work,,which he has been gone a lot,,so have not been able to take the photos. I can't get my phone to take a decent pic and if it did, I don't know how to transfer it to my pc.

Happy 4th to all of you and God Bless America on her birthday and God Bless our Troops, where ever they are today. Keep them safe and let them know we appreciate them and thank them for being able to celebrate with so much freedom to do so.
God Bless all,,,and thanks Jaye for another great RWB.

Good morning patriots!!!
Thank you, thank you for making this a very succesful swap! All have received and in time too. To each and everyone of you, my deepest gratitude for participating and making your buddy happy.
Just like the previous years, there are really some unique items.
Even a hand made doorag for someon'es significant other!! :-)

Marilyn, you are soooo right!! Nope, there are no other colors but RWB!!!

Yes, Cindy's correct in explaining. Liz has already claimed to be the first for next year... and I thought maybe Betty's name could be first for 2012.
Looks like Betty already took matters into her hands!! Lolol!!! Be comforted ladies, that my name will once again be almost at the bottom.

Perhaps next year, the economy will pick up and for those lurking, if you think you'd like to join in, be wise... start shopping or making. Soon the sales will hit the stores and this is the time to collect.
RWB is perrennial.

There are still a few of you ladies that haven't posted pics yet. We are curious as to what you got so some of us will keep in mind not to do duplicates.. if possible!!!

Here is a close up of my lil rag doll.

LOL, although she is meant to be a bottle cover, I thought she looked real sweat in one of my tiny rockers!

Woa.. heavens help me.. Judy.. you scored!!!! Yep, that rag doll should be displayed in the rocker :D
Now Marilyn, you're giving me ideas on the next purse I'm making.

Sis Kathy, I know your hand hurts to take pictures...but is there a possible way for Michael to do it?
Would love to see what our benevolent Jax got for you.

Way to go, Judy, especially love that tote bag and rag doll. My Mom used to make similar dolls with a hole in the top of their heads suitable to cover either a broom or a vacuum cleaner. What a score and Marilyn you did a great job!
