Our only large shade tree in the back yard is an Ash. I pray over it every day since the Emerald Ash Borer came to be! It is so good to hear that there are effective treatments now available. Are they treatments only? Are there preventative measures other than water and fertilizer to keep the tree as healthy as possible?

Thank you for taking the time to write such a thorough - yet understandable for us lay people - article.

The Bayer product seems to be very effective.
In my area 99.9% of the ashes are gone, it started here and by the time they found a treatment it was too late.

Dr Dave Roberts at Michigan State was very instrumental in researching the pest and finding a cure.
I was fortunate to be privy to all of the early tests and programs to control it as a Master Gardener and garden writer. It was very interesting.

Lisle is a nice little town, I attended a lot of training at the AT&T training center there back when I had a real job.
