I was given a cyclamen and did not unfortunately, quarantine it, it had mealy bugs which has invaded my very aged Hoya Carnosa, a very long twining pland...How can I get rid of these M bugs??...My hoya is an indoor plant and I have cats in the house.
Get some rubbing alcohol. Dip a q-tip in it and then touch the mealy bugs...they melt on contact!! If the infestation is very bad you can spray the alcohol all over the plant...I've done that...then rinse it off after an hour or so (apparently you don't need to rinse it off, but I'm paranoid)
I have 7 cats and 3 dogs :)
