Two years ago I found a Monarch chrysalis on the fence around my compost pile and wondered where it could have come from, since there were no milkweeds anywhere nearby. But this vine is all over my neighbor's fence, so now I know that's where the caterpillar came from.

I'd read that there was a vine Monarch cateripllars could eat, and suspected this was it, and contemplated growing it somewhere in my yard. Now I know better.
