Need suggestions as to when the judging begins.

We all need to take into consideration that some mamas have their babies much later, so I think maybe early fall will be the best time to judge.

What do you all think? I'll listen to the majority.

That seems fair to me, my lady M should be the belle of the ball by then, now that she has recovered from too much water, she is really a showing off! I cleaned out her castle and made sure all the moat around her is clear of any gators or snakes. Those mgs just appear outta no where, and they have snakey like tendecies, and the little violets all over her are now gone. ;-)

Any potential partners for Coral Bell for the ball, Susan?

Debra, I am glad I didn't plant any mgs. I heard they are too invasive.
Yes, Lady Michiko wouldn't want any rascals trampling on her toes.

LOL! Beware of sneaky fellows who show up in the wee hours of the morning, even if they're dressed to the nine's in a black tux and a white shirt. If this kitten had a little patch of white between it's eyes, I swear it could be Pye's twin right down to its 4 white paws and identical markings on its chest :) Pic is from July 6th, only 11 days old & its blue eyes are wide open.

Charleen, Little Dell is just an early bloomer, and that counts too. Some here will be late bloomers...

Me too.. I love kitties.. and I already have 14!!!! 5 of them Tux, and 2 exactly what you've described, Susan.
Let me tell you, after I've seen Cookie's Ragdoll, Riley..I'd love to have one like her. But Kel vetoed against it :(

Debra, be careful what you wished for. I've always wanted a Tux, until we rescued a pregnant one!!! :))

Fall Ball sounds exciting already...

Gorgeous cat Jaye!!! Fruity Pye got his shots this morning and is scheduled for his little surgery in a few weeks. We should have him about straightened out just in time. :0) Did I tell you he caught his first mole this morning. Came prancing up through the woods carrying the little bugger proud as punch. I don't think he killed it though. It was playing dead and he lost interest. His technique needs a little work. :0)

Well, that is Rockinblues Life of Riley, and he is a very special little boy. More like a puppy really than a cat. I just did a bad thing...went to his breeders' site and started looking at cats...I thought Bill was going to have a caniption (wonder how you spell that?????) fit when he happened by and saw what I was looking at.

If anyone would like to see the cattery he came from, here is the site. His parents are Dreama and Tyler. His sister from another litter is Raina and she is so beautiful...I totally wanted a bicolor when I got Riley, but the litter only had one bicolor and the rest were all mitted like Riley. They bicolor was a girl and I wanted a boy. Anyway, I'm happy with my little guy...

Baby Cheeks has grown quite tall, she is holding about 7 blooms, although the deer have eaten 2, so glad they decided they don't like em left the rest alone! Oh but that first bloom is such a Perrity (lol spelled specifically that way) heheh, I am so excited...Will post a pic tomorrow.

Sorry t be MIA but, my summer has been insanely busy, never a dull moment, but LOLOL, what can i say, having a ball.
Joyce, glad to see Casper is doing well...Will have to back track and read up on all the babies...

I am glad to be home. I never realized how bad a casino smells!! I almost gagged from the smell of ciggarette smoke, it was awful and now I have no voice and a bad chest cold. My dad is ok, They changed his surgery to after I left and I am NOT happy about that. But it was good to see him. I went out one night with my sisters and made a fool out of myself singing kareoke,, oh my gosh I sounded like a sick whale! Other than that I just hung out at my folks house and talked with mom and dad. I did not take many pics but did buy a bunch of post cards that I need to scan.

My gardens are a little dry and wilted but I only had one plant to die while I was gone, so the guys did a good job watering. I am tired and going back to sleep,, will check in later with pics of my baby.

Thank you Charlene!! I would love a cutting in the Fall if you think about it.

Debra I'm not sure if my Isabella is still out there or not. I gave one to my parents and one to a client. I am so horrible about labeling anything. I guess I need to get better about it so I can keep up with you guys. One of the seeds for a purple moon vine that you sent me has sprouted. It's so late I don't know what will happen with it, but maybe I can keep it over the winter. I bought a white datura when we were on vacation. I thought if I bought one that was blooming I might be able to keep it blooming, but alas no luck. It does have huge seed pods. Do I just cover them with netting like a hibiscus pod? Some of the morning glory seeds have sprouted , but it is so hot and so dry that I don't think they are going to make it either. I just came in from watering for over an hour. Right now it is so bad that I am even watering the shrubs deeply once a week. 105 heat index today. I'll be hiding out in the basement making cards I think. :0)

Joyce, congrats on the blooms! That is way cool!
We just came home from or Sat nite date at the movies, it was pouring out west in Wichita.. it is sprinkling here, big whoop.

Neener, those purple moon vines will be fine if you set them by something to climb, they bloom as soon as they get climbing. I had some bloom last night and I just planted them about four weeks ago. The Japanese i. nils are tuff. just cover their pots or the base of their stems with mulch or pebbles. They like bloom buseter, but I feed them what ever I feed the brugs. Which right now is tomatoe food,, it has been in the 100s here and my babie vines are doing okay. Yours will be okay too. I have tons of seeds if you want more. I also grow mine in the basement garden in the winter. they respond well to a flood light.
Isabella now has rour of her 8 blooms open, Elizabeth now has two blooms open of her four and kaitlyn has one of four open. I picked another 6 or 7 worms off of Maya poor thing.

My pink frost i.batata has just now decided to try to vine some more. I hope Leggy is climbing better than its sister here is.

You make it and I certainly will come share it with you. Funny thing about coconut cakes--we have been invited to Easter dinner with some very dear friends and she asked me to make a fresh coconut cake. So I did. That same week we were told that my hubby had Stage 4 cancer and we needed to start with the oncologist. So happened one of the other guest at the dinner was the retired Dean of the Medical school who had a fondness for coconut cakes. Our friends told him what was going on with Ross and the following week we got a call from the cancer center at the university scheduling an appointment with their top cancer specialist. All because of a coconut cake. Life is strange indeed.

Puhleeez... I love coconut cakes too!!
When small, I'd help my mum grate fresh coconut and she'll fold that into the cake batter. Asian style, no frosting.
Years later, my Cajun MIL would have coconut cake every Easter. But the cake is a plain yellow one, with coconut flake frosting. Still good!!

Neener, do you have your great grandma recipe? How about you, Maid M??

Well ah, er, sorta, kinda have the recipe. Actually my Mom always baked the coconut cakes--I can't remember my grandmother ever making a cake--only hoe cakes in a frying pan. Mom used pre packaged coconut but once Ross and I married, I started using the fresh coconuts--he would crack them to get the inside out; drain the milk which I used in the batter, then he would grate and toast the coconut lightly. Yes, he spoiled me!!!!...but I was worth it--if you don't believe me just ask. LOL

I still want to know more about the watermelon pie. That sounds so good and interesting to say the least. Come on Kathy tell us more...

Asking for prayers for my Niece please?

Little Lillie Marie needs prayers, she has somehow developed MRSA, and also has an infection in her intestines, She may need surgery, and family was told, she may not be strong enough to make it through!

She has NEC, necrotizing enterocolitis, an infection in her intestines that is causing severe problems. She may need surgery, which her chances with wouldn't be good. All your prayers are needed.
The hospital asked her if she wanted to call in the chaplain, and to call the family. It is not looking good right now, but we all know HE can do wonders!

Ya'll are a mess...lol Sunshine's looking great, LK. Here's baby Coral Bell today waving 'hi'. She's perked up, isn't nearly as fussy, and has a few new leaves since I moved her and her two Cousins under our Cherry tree. It's ringed with Hostas so my Baby Girl is in good company :)

Sis, if you want Sunshine, then I'll get your own Sunshine for you for your b'day next year!! But leave LK's Sunshine alone :D
You can quit crying now.

Susan, your Coral Belle is certainly in good spirits.
My heucheras leaves are scorched even under the shade!! Some cruel rays managed to get through the tree's canopy.

Jayebird my coral bells are the pits right now as well. All the leaves are toasty and some look downright dead. For some reason they seem to be a great play area for the kitty. :0)

Baby Duke is hanging in there. Just not growing at all. Fertilized again this morning. Maybe one he gets a winter under his belt things may look better.

My baby Colleen isn't growing either.. just sits there lol.. I'm about ready to put her into a bigger pot and see if that makes any difference :) Since she's a Tropical, I guess she's being tempermental!

Well duh... I bet she doesn't like sitting in that bird's mouth!! Why didn't I think of that before (smacking my forehead)

Hi everyone, long time no see. Work was brutal this summer, I've had no time to do anything with my gardens. You can't see the flowers for the weeds. That will change over the next few weeks since we are finally on a 4 day open. Good thing too, I need the rest.

I wanted pop in to tell you all hi and that I will be back and enjoying all my favorite people (sistahs). Ialso wanted to post an updated picture of Fontana. I've never seen an EE, alocasia, colocasia bloom before but that is what she is doing now. This pic was taken this morning. I am loving her all over again.

It's great to hear from you, Robin! Fontana's bloom is just lovely. I've never seen one either but keep hoping someday one of mine will bloom.

Coral Bell has a bunch of new leaves, LK, and she enjoys basking in the morning Sun under our Japanese Flowering Cherry tree. By the way, the moisturizing Japanese Cherry Blossom soap you sent with her is heavenly. I've used the heck out of it and the matching lotion too. How's that for a coincidence, especially since I moved Coral Bell from our side garden where there are no trees?!
