Our son Joe is almost 2 now, and we'd like to start trying this spring for another baby. BUT - there's always a but isn't there? - we don't know if we would be ready for it. Bear with me, I'm alittle long winded. : )
I for one, am definately ready. After being told I couldn't have any children, Joe was a wonderful surprise. My physician has given me the OK, and says there's no reason why I shouldn't be able to conceive and carry to term another baby.
But money plays a big part, as it unfortunately does with everything.
I have a great job with a local newspaper, great pay and benefits, But we may be switching to an AM paper, which would mean I would be working nights. This is something I refuse to do- I will endure it for as long as necessary, but I'm not going to spend the rest of my career away from my family at night.
My darling is currently unemployed. He got the short end of the stick on a really nasty deal at his former place of employment, and he worked a seasonal job all spring and summer. He has been promised a job there next year when they re-open, and even though he loves working in the great outdoors, it pays less than half of what his "real" job did.
We both have decent vehicles, and are replacing one in the spring when our tax refund arrives. Our home is in great condition but small, only 2 bedroom, and we had hopes of trying to find a bigger place soon.
Still with me?
I know my family would help out with clothes and babysitting, they always have. And I've heard it said 'if you wait til you're finacially secure, you'll wait too long'. What do you, the moms of DG, think? I'd love to hear what you think...
thanks,
Bucky
