Is there a pure white daylily you would recommend?

Bakersfield, CA

I am hoping to find a beautiful pure white daylily. I was thinking about trying to find President Ronald Reagan, but I've recently seen two pictures here in the Forum that show it as more of a cream to light yellow-cream in color. So is there a pure white one that anyone would recommend?

Lufkin, TX(Zone 8b)

a true "white" daylily is still a dream and goal of the daylily world, IMHO. however, there are some that are getting close. one of my favorites is Playa Blanca. not only is it very "white", but it is also large, about 6 to 7 inches.

Thank you everyone! Such gorgeous white daylilies!!! Now how to choose? Lyle, are your seedling introductions going to be offered through the LA, or some other means? I'd love to find out, since I think your seedlings are incredible!

Great White, Mal, Victorian Lace and Margo Reed Indeed. All have a hint of yellow, especially on cool days and when they first open in the mornings, but overall they read white from a distance.

My Michael Miller shows alot of yellow.

Wedding Gown. A beautiful flower, and maybe the color will change after it has a
chance to get established.

I have several near whites - Ice Carnival, Sunday Gloves, Joan Senior, Lime Frost, and these are all quite white unless you look really close. The new one I have this year is Heidi Edleweiss and it is the whitest I have ever seen.

Cut Bank, MT(Zone 3a)

Wedding Gown looks to have a lot more yellow than I shoes in most pics. of it. I have yearned for it as it appeared so close to pure white with the beautiful ruffling.
Crazy4bugs is it always that color for you??

Phoenix, AZ(Zone 9a)

Betja - I don't usually sell on the LA but I may think about it this fall...

I have heard that Wedding Gown blooms more peach than white like the hybridizers photo in areas other than Florida. I have yet to get a good white from WG they all show a peach blush. For whites I like ARCTIC LACE.

Seedling with WHITE MOUNTAIN as the pod parent. You can get the nice loops and ruffles from WM but still not as white as one might want .......

The whitest one I have is WINTER TREASURE, which is very inexpensive.

ARCTIC LACE is the next whitest. It has soft pink undertones that only show up in cooler weather. I would highly recommend this one. It has a great bud count and is a terrific rebloomer for me.

Rebloomnut, WG just arrived this spring and is still in a pot. Next years blooms
should be different. But IMHO it will not be pure white.

Is anyone growing Dad's Best White? I've got that one on my wishlist and need to know it's a good white.

O how I love the whites.
Im looking for a couple of good clumps of something white for pod parents next year. I killed off too many plants this year going pod setting crazy. Im thinking the heat is not helping. It was especially true with some of the more solid color ones.... you can hook them up with cool patterns and edges.

Michael Miller in Central Illinois. He's been blooming for maybe 5-6 weeks and still has buds.
