I'm so glad that you included the UC IPM website for those in Cali that are tired of trying to tame pests with copious amounts of pesticides. But... your link is to the pocket gopher page. Try this page instead http://www.ipm.ucdavis.edu/PDF/PESTNOTES/index.html It will take you to all of the pest notes on the site. I am just over the hill from you and have noticed an increase of mites and various scales this year. Also...bravo to the reader that called a single thrips by its proper name, a thrips. Nothing 'bugged' my botany professor more than the misuse of the word thrip for a single thrips.
