When I work with squash, any kind, my skin on my hands gets really really tight. I tried washing between each squash but it did not help. Once the starchy stuff dries I can peel it off with some success. I would rather not resort to wearing gloves. Can anyone tell me how to remove whatever it is that is tightening my skin?

I noticed that for the first time this year, too! Anxiously awaiting an answer. So weird.

I generally grab my husband's orange hand cleaner and it seems to do the trick. That or Lava soap. The grittiness helps.
