You have an interesting collection, patootie! This has been a good year for fungi - we had lots of rain. I'm finding new ones every day. This pink one looks like an ear coming out of the base of an old, rotting hemlock stump. It doesn't have gills, so I think it's a Jelly Fungus.
June, it does look like an ear. Love the pink.
I missed a photo op last week. Had 2 stacked togather or it was
a double decker, kinda pink or reddish. My DS has a book about
mushrooms. If I can find it,
I will try to look some of these up.
Grits I;m not sure that they're the same. My pattern was not as large as yours. As mine aged, the color and
pattern stayed the same. Looks like the color on yours got lighter.. Very interesting these mushrooms. :-)
Geez, I really should of posted these here last fall and maybe I could of gotten an ID on some of them. Anyhoo, here is a thread of mushrooms from the New England States...no fairies or pixie's were harmed or disturbed in the taking of these photos. ^_^ http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1218989/
