I have steep banks on either side of my driveway and encourage it to grow to keep the dirt from eroding. I think it's beautiful because it has dark shiny leaves and grows low on the ground, which makes a beautiful ground cover. I keep hoping it will eventually choke out all the weeds. I think it's also beautiful when it grows up the trunks of my trees and I don't discourage it. I haven't noticed any damage to the trees over the years.
