We came from there.. and the other five previous rooms.

This is it Mamas. The final parade. Show off your babies in their present condition here.
Of course exceptions are made for those that are "Eternally Green" or like Charleen's who has gone through her "life cycle", that would be impossible to produce pictures.

This has been an exceptionally 'vigorous' competition. From moonshine to margaritas and the piggies that ate the 'fox'----- it's been an entertaining one as well!!
Luckily Dr.Bonn Voyage didn't make more housecalls after Marion Jr.

So go on and show off your babies. This will be the last time they'd be on the runway!!

For the judge's convenience, I've made individual folders for you all, of course all posted pictures will be in there, dated as well.
Good luck Mamas.. and I'm relieved that I won't be the judge!! Would be a tough call!

Hi Debra.
I thought Lady Michiko is hardy up to zone 5. If you have doubts, maybe you should overwinter her in a pot for her first year, then after that, let her stay in ground with plenty of mulch.

Cookie if you're lurking, can you please advise Debra, since you grow ferns..and have similar zone.

I just received around 8 new plants from Carole in Fruity's tropical/houseplant swap.. Colleen was so surprised to see her cousin Polly (Poly) came to live with us :) Polly's kinda sad from the trip, but I'm going to set her next to Colleen and I bet she'll perk right up :)

I'm in the same boat as Jaye and Fruity.. no friends here and I'm not one to just jump in and make friends (I know..hard to believe! lol) Even at my new work place, there's only 3 that I really talk to.. 2 are married, so getting together outside of work probably won't happen.. the 3rd.. lol, he's a gay guy who's 35.. he'll stop by my desk several times a day to just chat and he's the one who brought me a jar of his canned apple pie filling (which was delicious, btw!). Talk about an odd couple.. 35 & gay--56 & an old broad :) I think it's a good combo LOL!!!

Same here, Jaye ... We just moved here last year and with DH disabled we can't do things with the "couples" anymore and I don't fit in with the singles because I'm not. Kind of a no-man's land, er, no-woman's land in this case, socially speaking. One of my neighbors and I walk the 5-mile Greenway several times a week but she gets sporadic with that and other than then, I never see her ... and the others are working. They would help a bit in an real emergency, I think, but I just don't see them much. So all are cordial acquaintances, I guess you would call them. Not good friends. But nice neighbors.

I'm comforted that I'm not alone when it comes to friends.
Mind y'all, I'm a social creature, and when I was in living in Louisiana, I am not short of friends, not mere acquaintances, but real friends who are willing to help in any situation.. provided it's legal!
It's been almost a decade since I've moved here. Kel is one who rather stay home with his books, music and Samford & Son series than try to make an effort to socialize, even with his cousins. The only friend he has moved to San Antonio, and I can tell you, that man now no longer have to find excuses to visit Kel :))

Like you, Fruity, neighbours are too far. But do rely on a young neighbour for hired garden chores.

Chris, I'll take a gay friend anytime!! He'd be entertainment for me!!
Back in La., I had four gay friends and they cross dressed!! My fashion sense had improved tremendously with them around!

Carol, the only 'couples outing' we've ever participated were the ones that church directed!!!! And that's like pulling teeth on Kel's part!!

If not for DG sistahs like you all and online social networks, I would have forgotten how to conduct myself in a civil conversation------(no, Jax.. I don't need a cuppa brew)

Thanks Robin... I love you too!! Hope next year won't be a busy year for you!

You all are winners in my book... hic...
Not going to be easy posting this as some of you will naturally get upset.
Believe me, I didn't pick the winner, so there's no 'favoritism'.
It wasn't easy for the judge either, as she said she can't 'feel' them to make sure they're real!!!

Again..
One winner and a runner up from flowering plants group.
One winner and a runner up from non flowering plants group.

This is the judge btw.

Church Sister Caroline Buffkin.. no relation to Kel.. honest!

Sis Kathy, your illness is taken into consideration too. It's not your fault that Leggy Bowen can't develop into the best he could. Like the judge says, he shows some fight to live, and have a few good limbs.

I'm only kidding about the photos, LK!!!!!

Congrats Debra. You are so right, these mamas here all are plant lovers... even the ones whose kids are in eternal rest!

Sis Kathy, I posted this on the other thread, but in case you don't feel like going over..
Sorry Sistah Kathy.. I was rooting for Bama last night. They were ahead in the first half and then they shut down the next?? What's wrong with Saban? He didn't have any fire left in him it seems to me? But then the players made mistakes too... sigh.. I was so wanting to see the Barners burn. But Bama band made me laugh when they played "Son of a Preacher Man" and "Take your money and run"!!

Well Mamas, now you know that I love college football, besides gardening, sewing and eating!

Okay now I can't resist telling about an incident this weekend with Catie-Beth (5 yo GD). I was out shopping with her and her parents when Dad decided to treat us all to lunch. We went in to the shop, ordered and went to find a place to sit until the order was ready. Wouldn't you know it right across from us was an elderly (I do say the gently) with a big full white beard, stocking cap on his head and a red shirt. Michelle told CB it was Santa and she had better be good--well CB studied him for a few minutes then announced to us that he was NOT Santa as Santa doesn't have a wallet nor a cell phone!! Kid logic.

Oh yeah, she has that "opening the presents" part down pretty good now :)

Ok, here's the picture finally! And boy, did Jaye outdo herself! I love it..look at these goodies :) She sent me a shopping list, a cute little pen (that Miss Sarah keeps trying to snitch!), a nice Santa mug (such a good size for hot choc w/a kick!), an adorable cat ornament for my tree (it looks like a child's pull toy), a very pretty maroon purse and a lipstick holder that matches it, and a birdhouse windchime.

Thank you so much.. what a fun time I had unwrapping each item and doing the Oh and Ah thing :)

Hugs to you!

She's ready for Santa and I bet she has been good this year! Look at how sweet Kailey is..
You're forgiven Chris.
Hope you find a kitchen corner to hang that b'house from. I assume you wear lipstick, and thought you could use the lipstick case.

Mamas...it's been a YUCKY week for me and today I got a continous meeting wtih my pillow and Advils.

Hope your weather wherever you're at doesn't require the wearing of thermal underwear and a little dash of JD in your hot tea.

Well, I need to show off my box of goodies I got from Jaye!
Jaye these gifts are so beautiful, and I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
There were some candies also, but they dissapeared before I could take a picture! Yep, they were scrumptious peanut brittle's!

I got some much needed garden gloves, and very nice cup for the delicious hot cocoa, and a BEAUTIFUL gourd birdhouse with a wonderful hummer painted on it!

Thanks so much Jaye!

You have always been the hostess with the mostess!!! ^_^

Merry Christmas everyone!

That gourd is absolutely beautiful, Jayebird, did you paint it?

You're too funny Fruit!!! Don't forget the wig, and we'll get a perfect visual!!

Lol.. oh Debra.. ty for that nice remark. Do you know that Kel loves your Kansas cap, and even though it's faded, he won't part with it? So you can say that we adore you!!

Crits, wish I could paint!! The angels were looking out for LK, and led me to the hummingbird!!

Robin, again, thanks to you and Jax, for hosting it last year. It's a big responsibility to make sure mamas don't get wild raising their babies!

Jax, you might have to change your strategy for next year.
Robin, don't you think I need a bigger 'stick' for the 4th RMB?

To Mamas that have been extremely patient with their kids, and not forgetting the Mamas that have sent their kids to that eternal resting field...
with much love here.. wishing a Merry Merry CHRISTmas and a Blessed 2011.
