I just bought a Kenko 1.4x teleplus pro 300 DGX, for my Rebel T1i. I hooked it up, to my EF 70-300mm 1:4-5:6 IS lens. When my camera is turned on, there is a sound, coming out from the lens continuously. Has anyone had this problem. And is my lens compatible with it. I would also like to know what your experience was with the Kenko 1.4x teleconverter. Your help would much appreciated.
Turn off your autofocus. What lens are you using with it (biggest question is what is the largest f-stop)?
I have the Canon 1.4 converter and with the 100-400 it won't autofocus due to the f-stop so I have to manual focus anyway.
I tried turning off autofocus, and the noise persisted. I then turned off Image stabilizer, and the noise stop. I only turn it back on, when I use the camera. Auto focus works great. I'm waiting for a sunny day, to really give it a good try.
