I'm needing plans for a revolving cabinet like in this picture but it will be for fabric rather than cd's. I'm not familiar with searching for woodworking plans so I need help with the search words. any ideas?
I have not been able to find any plans for anything like this. The rotating bit will probably use what is usually called a 'lazy Susan bearing'. If you google this you will find suppliers. These are made from 3 inch diamater up to around 15 inch diameter and provide a very good revolving mechanism. Also, I remember my father once built a rotating chair which used a bicycle wheel hub as a bearing and this is something that you could also consider. Alternatively, if you put casters on the base (like are used on office chairs) then the cabinet could be rotated on these.
Good luck with your project. Let us know how you get on.
