My Gmail and Google accounts were Hijacked and compromised

Toledo, OR(Zone 8a)

I am pulling my hair out and just freaking out over this. The worst part is that Gmail doesn't have a phone support number and the only help line is a forum. If I could afford better I wouldn't be there but all my blogs are denying me access as the hijackers changed my password so I can't even get into my blogs except to comment. I have left a comment in both of them and hope that any future followers will see it.
If anyone out here has a suggestion I would greatly appreciate it.
I am just a neurotic mess and for me that is highly unusual. I am a very even tempered mild manner person as anyone that knows me can verify. I have definitely learned a lesson from all this.
This is a copy of the letter that they are sending to everyone in my address book
So please, if you get this letter, its not from me. I am safe at home.

Subject: Urgent Response
From: Jan MacKay
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1

I am Sorry for not telling you about my unannounced trip to the UK. I
am stranded in London at the moment and I wish you could lend me USD
$2000 to take care of some bills. I will repay you as soon as I return
back home in few days time. I misplaced my cell phone and other
valuable items during an incident that occurred at train station early
this morning.

Due to the urgent need, please send the loan to me via Western Union
Money Transfer in my name.

Name: Jan MacKay
Address: 27 Old Gloucester Street, WC1N 3AX. London, United Kingdom

After money transfer, attach the western union transfer receipt or
email me the payment details to enable me claim the sum from western
union office here.

I will be waiting for the money transfer informations.

Thanks for your understanding.
Warmest Regards,
Jan MacKay

I hope you have e-mailed everyone in your contacts and told them of a scam going on.

sorry I can't help

I got this same letter. Everybody did. It even was signed by someone I know personally. I smelled a rat right away because the person who supposedly sent the letter is an invalid in a wheel chair. I just deleted it and no had further problems.

yes, all my contacts have been informed and the funny thing is if they knew me they would know that my friends don't have that kind of money anyways. Hehe and most of my friends were probably laughings saying Yea right Jan.
Still it was a very unnerving event and situation to deal with. I am going to be hugely more careful from now on. I just let my guard down and that was all it took.
thanks gang
