I have always been fascinated by the preying mantis but these past few summers I have noticed the little buggers sitting atop my flowers, be they Japanese anemones or Autumn Joy sedum and catching the bees! There are a lot of bees in my garden so I am not worried about their extermination from a couple of mantis but it certainly tarnishes their "good " reputation in my book. But, everything's gotta eat.
