| I thought someone here said they had purchased this gadget..when I see something in a post that I don't know what it is I google and read up on it...
So tell me who has it, how does it work, which one do you have and would you recommend it to others? There is alot of good feedback and just a few negative ones...
Just wondering...

| I also looked it up and it looks like it will get the job of cutting down to nothing if you have the right die plate. I guess you could always try and get it on sale. I have a cricket which is for scrapbooking but can print a butterfly and trace pattern on fusible paper and cut out. |

| I priced the machine and the dies and even at 25% off, it would cost nearly 1500.00 to get the machine and most of the dies. |

| various different site sell them as well as Accuquilt. Beware of the dies on on Ebay unless it's a really reputable seller because imposter dies have been popping up. |

| I think it would be great to have if you do a lot of appliqué, or want to ...otherwise for the amount of money for the dies...I will stick with my rotary cutter!!!! I have heard that you have to replace the mat quite often. and you still have to cut fabrics into pieces to fit the dies...seems like twice the amount of work to me???
if some body gave me one, I would probably use it from time to time...but I can't see that the expense would be justified...not for me, any way... |

| I have to agree Thunder, It's like an embroidery machine, I would dearly love one but unless I was doing it commercially, I can't justify the expense.
I have also found my self in an odd frame of mind, I remember my mom saying the same thing. At my age I don't have enough time left to spend that kind of money on what basically would be a toy. I used to think it foolish of her to deny herself and now I seem to say the same words. |

| I like the idea of perfect precision, and I think it would be a super tool for cutting scraps or the rag quilt squares, but other than those, I'm another one that can't justify the expense - not only the expense of the machines, but of wasted fabric and wasted time.
You have to pre-cut the fabric so that it will fit onto the bed of the die-cutter, anyway. It seems to me that you could spend just a little more time than the pre-cutting requires and cut the exact sizes that you want.
And there is a LOT of wasted fabric with this machine. I figured it out once and even by the most conservative of estimates (1/4" loss) I was going to lose 20% (a FIFTH!) of my fabric for one particular pattern. And if the patches had been smaller, the waste would have been even worse! Jeepers!
I could cut the same patches with a rotary cutter and ruler and only lose about 3% to waste.
Just my 2¢ - adjusted for inflation. ;)

| I do have one and almost all the dyes (except the most recent) they certainly are the cats meow but like everything else you have to have the time to use them..
I DO use for rag quilts though, talk about nifty!
Maybe you could check local fabric shops, know the one in Elmvale on my way home for work does the cutting of quilt tops in various patterns for her customers, should check how much, might be a way of making additional $$$ as though I have the time.
The store in Cookstown that I purchased my accuquilt and dyes are having a sale tonight between 6 - 10pm, Santa Claus parade and candlelight walk is on so guess they are hoping for the shoppers, sure wish I could go... |
