thank you--i do not knit and want to try and make one from fabric--
i would make a fabric about 44 inches across and sew wrong ends together and turn out to make a "tube" that will now measure about 22 across---is that right?
i make it about 60 inches long and sew ends together and there is the loop--right?
PlanoL: Here's a video. The short ends are twisted before being sewn together. Her fabric in video is 21" x 72", it is folded double so the width becomes is 10.5 inches. When done, hers is doubled up to a really warm double "cowl" . I wonder if you didn't want a double cowl, maybe it could be 36" (1 yard) long. There are also videos on how to wear this. I love the look of these. I haven't made one, though, & I don't own one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ePAam2qCdM
