I was disappointed to learn that this flower only lives about four to five years. I had it planted in my garden for a while and simply loved it. And then it was gone... found out thru some research that it just doesn't live very long... so I didn't plant it back. But love to see it blooming beside creek banks when I'm out.

Glad you like the plant, but it is a little temperamental.
In order to keep it in your yard, I think you do have to add new young plants about every other year.

It's too hot and dry here to even try, so I've not grown it for many many years.
