I am fascinated by stories like this, that give us a peek into the traditions and people of the past. Thanks for sharing the story of Captain Santa, and especially for including the photo of your husband's grandmother as a child!

Thanks, Angie. Of all our old family photos, this is probably my favorite. As an adult, she did not have an easy life. But this picture makes me happy every time I look at it -- it is about a little child's perfect happiness at Christmas.
