I have always liked google for searching. I often book mark something I like. All of a sudden I cant get them any more. When I pull up google now there are about six rows of stuff before you even get down to where you type in what you wan to search. The google icon I did use was on my task bar, now its gone. Don't know what happened to it.
Cant find bookmarks on Google.
at the top of your browser window... look for VIEW ... in there, your first option is TOOL BARS
if you still have the google tool bar on your computer, it will be listed and Click it.
If it is no longer there... then you will have to down load it again.
hopefully -- if you saved your bookmarks within your google user profile, they will load for you.
hope this helps.
Wow, sparks- you got TOO MANY toolbars!! LOL! I don't see how you have any space left to work in- I have a max of 2 lines of toolbars- but that's a personal thing, I guess. To each his own. Have a great day, everyone!
Jo -- I"m the same... i like as few tool bars as possible.... i recall, i think it was back in Win98, you could put more than one tool bar in the 'vertical space' -- just drag them and "lock" it in place. I could go down to 1 - being Comcast, but I access Google a lot.
Jo, I know I have too many, how do I get rid of most of them?
If you happen to find that VIEW |Tool bar
just unclick them.
Sparks.... scroll up a bit... i mentioned how i found the VIEW without having the Menu bar... and posted 2 images for you.
we crossed posted...
right after your image, i posted two that should help you
tcs, I have looked and looked at your images and I cant really tell where I am supposed to make the first click. I have looked at many things since then and have about given up on finding "View" or "bookmarks". Hopefully you can tell me where to make my first click.
sorry sparks... try right clicking somewhere around the address bar... i've clicked various places and that was the only spot where i could get that little box to pop up.
I guess if you can not get it to work... I am on a Win7 computer... i really should be doing this on an XP one to make sure it all works...
BUT --- you could just download the Google Toolbar, then once installed, it should be there and you should have your google bookmarks.
Thanks again tcs, your sure trying to help and I really appreciate it. Started to download google tool bar but I not sure I got. Here I go again, will play with it for awhile.
I'm on my XP computer now... I found I could only get that tool bar box if I clicked on a tool bar that was open.
I tried doing a "search" for "toolbar" came up with nothing... and even though I HAVE google tool bar, doing a search did not find it.
once you think you downloaded it... Foxfire does have a "download" box, where it will show what has been downloaded...
OH uggg, it's in the MENU TOOL BAR -- so i guess that wont help you either.
Maybe Google "how to get the menu tool bar back"
Hello my very good friend tcs: Let me show you my new Foxfire Google web site. I went to my aol screen name and searched for google and installed it, Then I think I searched for google too bar. (not really sure exactly because I tried so many different things). I then searched for a recipe and when it came up I got it saved as a bookmark. Of course I knew all my old ones were gone. I left google and then came back to see if my recipe was book marked and it was. Right clicked on bookmark and in the drop down menue was import bookmarks, Then 90 plus of my old bookmarks came up. Had checks in each box. I was able to uncheck a number of them then, saved all the rest. Again got out of Google and came back and was able to bring them up. Would love to do it over again to get the exact sequence but I shore anint taking a chance. My daughter came over right after that and found a way of getting out of some of the tool bars. Right clicking in the correct place and unchecking boxes. The final is shown in the picture. I will go to bed tonight a haapy man. I do want to thank you again for all the trouble you have gone to to help me out.Would love to stay in touch. I am too tired to preview this so you get it as is.
very good!! I knew your old bookmarks would be there. I think that's a snappy feature... even though i do not use it a lot, it did it years ago - so when out of town on DH's laptop, I could access MY bookmarks from my home PC.
now... that [missing] Menu Toolbar is handy - if you ever decide you want it. Obviously your daughter found the VIEW so she could get rid of all those extras.
So glad it finally worked out for you.
