Well, I made the mistake of giving away my older electric hand mixer. I had bought a Sunbeam retro look mixer a few months ago. By the time I got around to using it, I had already given my other one away. I hate the Sunbeam...I loved the retro look, but it has NO low speed, everything I mix splatters out of the bowls. Now I've been reading reviews on what to buy to replace it and the reviews are not so good...most of the bad reviews are burned out motors after a few uses. I have a very vintage stand mixer I use on most everything except light duty..so I don't really want to spend too much. Anyone bought a newer less expensive one that they are happy with?

    Thanks, tish

The Cuisinart is on sale at Sur La Table for $49.95. My niece has had one for over five years and loves it.
