Our Marietta, Oklahoma photo and travel club are looking for iris farms or private gardens to view and photo this coming April. I am aware of Argyle in Texas and Stout in OK City, both of which we have toured in the past. Do any of my Dave's friends know of other areas within a hundred miles of here that we can see this spring?
Also... what opinions do ya"ll have on the new Kodak easyshare Z981 26X for amatuer photography? I am really wanting an upgrade from my easyshare 10x as I mostly photo close ups of plants and wildlife...just hesitating to spend the bucks
I visited a fabulous wildlife park in Glen Rose, Texas called Fossil Rim and had an amazing photo experience http://www.fossilrim.org/tours.php You can do a guided photo tour with as many people as you want and spend an entire day shooting the amazing wildflowers and animal collection at the park in a private jeep ride. I did the private tour, just myself and one other person and a guide in a regular open jeep driving all over the park spending as much time as we wanted everywhere, going off the roads, seeing a lot of stuff that isn't on the regular tours. It was a once in a lifetime experience. I have a couple of my photos on the internet http://www.finnskeeper.net/Fun.html (everything on that page but the orangs and the lion were taken at fossil rim) Sorry I don't have the wildflower pics up but the wildflowers are really beyond amazing there of the animals and plants. Its a cageless facility so the animals are in semi-natural conditions. Really an amazing experience. It shouldn't be that far from you.
