There was a recent and quite long article in the New Yorker magazine about bananas. It seems that there is a real threat to our banana crop worldwide because of a blight. A frantic and frustrating effort to find a solution to this problem is ongoing. Prevalent opinion is that the only thing that would save the grocery store banana long term is to develope a banana plant that was resilient to the blight. Very interesting!
