Ah, yes, the "Red Twig" Dogwood -- also known in the world of primitive archery as Red Osier (or Redosier, Red-Osier, etc) Dogwood; also red willow, redstem dogwood, American dogwood, Kinnikinnik, Squawbush, Creek Dogwood, California Dogwood, Red-stemmed Cornel, Redbrush, Gutter Tree, harts rouges, Poison Dogwood, Shoemack, Waxberry Cornel, Dogberry Tree.
And it is very easy to plant; just get a cutting from an established shrub and stick it in very well watered, moist soil (keep it moist!), and it should root by itself. And very pretty -- easy to spot in winter because it is so RED.
